It is an overused term.   There are a few men out there that are actually afraid of a gay dude hitting on them or something, but that really isn't as common as you think.   People can dislike or hate something without being afraid of it.   The attachment of phobia indicates fear, when it should just be a lack of understanding that is the root of the hatred/dislike.

It is an incorrect use of the term phobia.    I know plenty of people that are scared of spiders, moreso than they are of homosexuals or humans in general (which is strange because humans are more dangerous than spiders lol).    Arachnophobia is more valid as a real phobia in that case.   When you are intolerant of something you are homo-intolerant.   Like lactose-intolerance .   Intolerance does not equal fear.   Attaching phobia/fear to people that hate people that are different from them is just an example of an agenda being pushed.

I have worked with four New Zealanders and I didn't get along with any of them. But that doesn't mean I think all New Zealanders suck. I think I was just unlucky that I met people that I didn't get along with. I would like to visit New Zealand, it looks really nice there.
