Don't think I've ever had gas, with forced air.
I can always taste the gas stoves, but that's
not too bothersome.
I always sense forced chemical heat, but heat from a resistive element is just as staunch, only different.
To me it's more of a smell than a taste, although I can taste it. It's one of those typical minerally flavors I do taste, actively, at times.
Taste and smell are so connected.
But, mostly my senses are centered
in my mouth (the roof) rather than
nose.

snakes taste with their tongues. Hell,
some of mine seems to actually be in
my throat.
