I like to think of myself as pretty genuine - other people usually fall far short of my standards

you've alrady started to ignore some of my posts - what's so genuine about that?!

it's so EASY to out-genuine others - they just generally lack attention to detail and consistency

anyway, a lot of people skim questions (and miss em - particular those with executive functioning weaknesses/ADHD type traits), or will go back to serious ones when they've had chance to think about it. You might consider yourself pretty genuine, but there are plenty here with integrity, honesty and who are true to themselves - which is a fair definition of being genuine to me. I doubt you're the most genuine on I², if its a pissing match.

well, i am telling you that you are not!

how can you be so genuine when you are always questioning others intentions.  it seems to be projection.  i have found that people who are real and genuine articles seem to be the most trusting, because, since they wouldn't do it, they assume others wouldn't as well.

i believe in you.  once you relax some more, then i will begin to accept that there is not so much projection going on with you.

It's my 'thing' to analyze people - I like to categorize and put people into my database
of human 'types', it's an automatic reflex thing

I think I don't have the capacity for real 'closeness' in group situations as it seems to involve a lot of nonsensical
joshing around and overt, sometimes forced, 'mateyness' that I just can't genuinely do or properly relate to

my AS ness makes me obsess.  i tend to just throw caution to the wind and post.  i like numbers and stats.  especially stats.  i like nonsensical gibberish, because i understand it (thanks to my ADD).

all i am saying is beware if you are controversial and hate conflict.  you will be called to the mat for your words.
i don't mind conflict because it helps me to grow as a person and come out of my theory of mind issues.
i am like you where everything is black and white.  i do not know the shades of grey.  sometimes i put shit out there just to get other peoples POV.  that isn't really being honest, but it does help me grow.  its all about me, you know.

Probably not, though I would have expected an ASD-related board to work harder at eradicating this type
of stuff instead of actively wallowing in it!

I take the point about using it to harden yourselves up though
