i know.
when i signed up i felt guilty for picking a county that i lived in so i had to tell them i wasn't from the UK, i have a hard time lying.  but i wanted to get them to start talking about solutions rather than just slinging mud.  it all seems pretty counter-productive, yes hypocritical, IMO.

its really sad actually.  and, i am even sadder because i am beginning to think that emy might have even been Omega.  Mind you, i have no proof whatsoever, it is just a gut instinct.
i did find out that esmy used several IP adresses to come here, all from around London.
i am very sad, today.
Misunderstood.

i have been banned from aspie villiage.  it could just be that i am not from the UK.  i made thre total posts and not one of them were offensive.

It was probably because you're not from the UK or Ireland. It's specifically mentioned in their TOS.

Niiiiiice.

No, Im not Omega (Female?), I don't even know the girl; have only seen a few of her posts
on our board.  I have to say that from the posts I have seen, she seems more akin to this site than ours though
She has an 'edge'

And I don't have IP addresses around London

I feel weird after yesterday, like I made a visit to 'the dark side' lol

I've been trying to formulate in my head how you all came to be like you are
on this site - something's not right

You definitely all have official AS diagnoses?

Ok everyone, show me your papers

It's brown - I already told you 50 million posts back before this turned into a general discussion forum!
(AKA 'The Place To Be') (That cleared the thread! lol)

Oh and """""" ''''' "'  '''''' '      ' (Inapproporiate use of quotations, 'specially for.....(can't remember her name)

I think it's better as a 2-way Q&A anyway - in order for me to answer a question I get to ask one back

So, do you prefer the company of non-Americans?

I have my official dx, which I'm sure will shock you since you seem to think no aspie could ever possibly be as horrible and disgusting as me.  It's a dx that's been agreed on by a multitude of mental health professionals.

It's funny how she compares Intensity to a visit to the dark side when she's the one who came here with blazing lightsabers... ::)

I won't deny it, I have had my illusions of the average ASer being semi-saintly well and truly shattered by this site, if, as you say, you have a diagnosis

You just seem too 'normal' to me

But then, with it being a spectrum I suppose there have to be people who are very borderline or who have absorbed  NT culture/adapted well to it

Do you feel that different to the norm in the first place?

I can't afford a diagnosis.

No, I do not except patronising comments from you, McJ. I am perfectly able to make my own decisions. Besides, why should I listen to other people's opinions if they will not consider mine. Some people here are so stuck in their ways they make George Bush and bloody Osama Bin Laden seem like liberals. And how dare you bring up incidents from my past. You know nothing, absolutely nothing.

And nor do I take advice from wannabe paedophiles. Fuck you, Pete. And God help those kids you are wanking over.

This may be an arena, but I am not a gladiator. Nor am I here for people like Lucifer's entertainment. So long...

Well I wasn't going to comment on this since I'd assumed you'd already left, but since I saw you logged in this morning maybe I misunderstood the 'so long' comment.  How you can make of this what you will Robert, but my intentions are positive (its up to you whether or not you read them that way) and I'm speaking from experience.  Basically, it seems to me that you've gotten yourself in a frame of mind where you read every commment made to you on here in a negative light, its easily done since all you have to go on is text on screen- no tone of voice, no body language, etc.  I agree that recently you've faced some confrontation but I agree with McJ  that you asked for it by slagging off several people at once-you must realise that those people have the right to answer the accusations you levelled against them, just as you have the right to make them.

I didn't read any hint of McJ patronising you in his post, but since you obviously did ask yourself this question- if someone you considered to be a friend made that post what would you have thought their intentions were then?  In other words, would you have read it to be patronising?

People make piss-taking comments to each other on here all the time, but it seems to me that for a while you've taken the ones made to you incredibly seriously.  You seem to think that certain members hold some kind of grudge against you and I think it colours how you react to their posts- I've been in situations like that in the past and it took me a long time to realise that most people don't take the stuff that goes on on a message board seriously and whilst they may make nasty comments it doesn't necessarily mean that they hate me or that they are bullying me.  For most people message boards are just a form of entertainment and they don't think that anyone might be hurt by their comments- and really, most of the time, there is no need for anyone to be hurt.  In fact, some of the comments you have made could be considered to be hurtful if people took things as seriously as you seem to do (for example, the times you've told people they should get a job, not being able to hold down a job because of the stresses it places on you is disheartening enough without having someone throw it back at you as an insult).

Now its up to you to decide whether or not you can lighten up and take the piss taking in the nature it is intended.  And its up to you to decide where you spend your online time, but please stop making yourself out to be a victim of the villains of intensity because it just isn't true.  Whilst this might seem harsh I can see that you're putting yourself though unnecessary pain and I think that if you even consider what I've said it might just lessen this in the future.

Well I only got diagnosed at 37, after being referred to Occuaptional Health for advice re. anger/stress management (lol)

I got referred to a private Psychiatrist (courtesy of the tax payer as working for local council at the time  )
who agreed with my vague suggestion of AS

He sent me to his colleague - a Child & Adolescent Neuro-Psychiatrist, who diagnosed me after discussion, a test and talking
to my parents as well

So I appear to be a fully paid up member

Nessa

As you know, in the UK unless you are 'significantly impaired', its damn near impossible to get a clinical diagnosis. Personally I'm nowhere near borderline judging from my assessment, and I've never felt 'normal'. I can't hold down a job for long despite getting a degree, and have difficulty keeping friendships going IRL - and my sensory issues drive me batshit.

Despite this, I don't appear ready for sainthood, I have my flaws, like all humans do - even other aspies.

Whats wrong with that?   Its just so we can have one site which helps British aspies with their issues and things like benefits , housing , employment issues ,in the uk ,  considering that all the other sites are overwhelmingly  American.  Do you find that offensive?
