No, no - it detracts from everyone elses happiness. Last thing you should be promoting is yet another inconvient and expensive social expectation. All it does it add to the social bullshit and reduce equality.
Allowing, not promoting, dumbass.
Same result - as soon as you allow it, you make it seem acceptable.

Lazek is slightly different, though I think the best solution is to not have to wear glasses at all. I reckon in 10 years everyone will be wearing them, or contacts, just so they can have a wearble display.
Lasik IS "not having to wear glasses at all."  And contact lenses can be uncomfortable or even painful.
Not true - it only corrects single vision. What you want is something that deals with prebysteria.

I'd only want laser surgery if it meant I could shoot laser beams out of my eyes :evillaugh:

I disagree.  We let you talk here and I still don't accept your bullshit.

You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.

Plastic surgery reduces equality for obvious reasons - I didn't think I had to spell it out.

Its what happens when you become middle aged and need two different lenses, one for normal vision, the other for reading.

Seriously, the way to equality is not to keep others from looking good.

Of course it is, its the poor and the disabled who are less able to get this kind of plastic surgery. Hence you instantly mark someone out past a certain age as lower class.

I'm disabled but I managed to get it, since I lived at home and used diasbility to pay for it. In an equal society the state should PAY for all surgery needs instead of keeping people from getting it.

Every civilized state should at least pay for public eye surgery, hair transplants and the removal of aesthethic but none medical problems like blemishes or birth marks. Women who gave birth should also get state sponsored surgery to remove additional skin and fix saggy breasts.

If I was the ruler I would force balding/thinning guys to undergo state paid hair transplants and I would strongly encourage everyone to have laser treatment. I would also have diet rules in order to help everyone become more beautiful.

There should also be optional fashion councelors which would require license and 4 years academic education who people could visit to get a nice style and understanding of fashion. This would not be aimed at making people look like clowns but rather at informing people about things like quality, sizes, body types, materials, history of clothing and helping them develop a basic wardrobe and also acting like personal shoppers in some cases.

Every working person would be rewarded with a visit to a luxurious SPA resort every three months and healthy products would all be completely tax free.

So what marketable skills do you have?

So what marketable skills do you have?

Me? I dunno, I'm talented but not a specialized field expert in anything. I wish I had more specific competence but I can't get it because of:

1. Lack of interest/need for a special interest

2. The social structure of schools and society

3. The fact I have to study 90% subjects I'm not interested in to even get into a real school

4. Economic reasons, I would become poorer while educating myself.

I don't give piss for a general education in history, politics and things like that. That's something you learn on your spare time. Real education doesn't broaden your world view, it just adds narrowed competence in one specific field. That's what I wish I had. I want to be an expert, it's the way of the aspie but I have unfortunately been cursed/blessed with a lack of scientifically oriented special interests and instead a wider range of talents from music/dancing to psychology. I'm versatile but not awesome and that sucks.

I want to be the guy who's only good at one thing. If I was like those shooting clay pigeons from horseback in the olympics, and just doing it flawlessly while being average or poor at everything else, I would be happy. My existential void would be filled.

The archetype I dream of becoming is the marksman who never misses his target but that's pretty much all he does. A one trick pony who's unbeatable at his own game. That is the most glorious form of aspie there is. Again, Michael Jackson, Bobby Fischer etc are prime examples. In lack of this, I act like a poser. I try to present the most brilliant, intelligent, cool and weird appearence, building an image, while really being no good at all. I hate myself deep down for not being more aspie genius. I'm like Adolf Hitler, a generalist who's moderately to quite talented in a number of fields but rather sucky at a lot and never truly educated or good in anything.

A large hinder for me would be breached if I could learn mathematics. I don't know more than basic junior school maths. Learning japanese is a childhood dream I'm close to realizing, but mathematics is a necessary skill I would need to specialize in a scientific subject but I have such a phobia for it that everytime I try to learn, I just fall flat.

Being okay at lots of things is at times much better than being a specialist.  I learn what I do by doing not going to school.  I wanted to be a biologist but I do the work that paid my way though school instead.  I do specialize in what I do but I am not held to it and to specialize with the work I do you need a working knowledge of lots of different things

If I could overcome my personality disorders I would be suited as military officer because of my psychological and structural skills and generally versatile knowledge. But there's no chance of me ever getting into anything military. Being versatile and having psychological judgement is what separates a good officer from the rest.

Military officer and journalist are the only two professions I can think of where you need to be a "jack of all trades".

I would be a perfect journalist but I don't find it fun. My dad is one.

My romantic dream is still to be a super specialist and bad at everything else.

It helps a lot in construction too especially when you have to do everything or are coordinating things
