Still, it's an interesting observation. But eh, WP is a fortress, and you can only affect it by competition. At any rate, if users keep getting banned or alienated from there, there's a chance a new community or a current one may become popular enough to steal new users away from WP.

Possible, yes; but then there is the possibility that the new structure could end up similar to the one they left. Top heavy, in other words. When everyone was joining zOMG after getting banned from WP, I said to some of them we might become more popualr than WP. Soph and Cal said they didn't really want that, because of the fact zOMG is a small site, there is always gonna be a more closely knit membership. I guess the same would apply to here (I2), and there is no way odeon would suddenly want 20,000 odd accounts to deal with. And given what they are like on WP, I wouldn't blame him.
