You could handle it, the 7.62 X 39 has considerably less recoil than the 308.

I hope to fire it one day!  What kinds of shit does one blast with it?   :toporly:

Cans, gallon size orange juice containers, watermelons, engine blocks, ice on a lake in Winter. Once I shot a cantaloupe @ 15 paces with a 44 magnum 200 grain Speer JHP. It made an orange mist out of a good part of the cantaloupe and stringy seed gunk got in my hair.

It dried sticky and nasty. I was relieved to wash it out.

Why it seems I have arthritis or something in some finger joints. In my left thumb and in the second joints of my right index and ring fingers. Just odd.

Do you clench your hand a lot? Or tend to have a firm grip on everything?

No...can't think of anything. I am a student which means physical work is at an all-round low at the moment. :D I am left-handed which doesn't explain my sore right-hand knuckles. If it was just my left thumb I would put it down to holding my pen wrong or something.

When I am stressed, I hold everything too tight, and, I do clench my hands in my sleep, as well as wriggle with it in a way unkind for my fingers. Had a check up on arthritis in my hands from a hand specialist. She did think one joint in my right thumb was affected mildly by arthritis, all the other joints hurt because I never had my hands relaxed. That's why I asked.

That makes sense to ask that then. I know there are different types of arthritis and I don't even know if what I am experiencing is it or not. Joints are not hot, red or swollen, which makes it hard to prove that I have pain.

I remember having pain in my wrists years ago and I got given Vioxx for it and that medication worked awesomely. Then it got taken off the market. Now my wrists don't hurt but they are weak and I can't put any weight on my hands (like lean on them) or it will really hurt. Seems that I have done damage there of some sort. Wonder if my fingers will turn out the same.

My GP asked me where I wanted to go, to a specialist in rheumatoid arthritis, but, he didn't thing anything would come out, because of lack of swollen joints, redness or clear inflammation, or, to see a hand ergo therapist. I chose the latter. She gave me lots of exercises to relax my hands.
When I went to see her, things were that painful that I could not even write my own name, without dropping the pen. After a few weeks I could write without a problem.
Whenever my hands get painful again, I do some of her exercises. And, that does help.

First exercises were to learn to relax the wrist, and to keep the hand relaxed.

Should I attempt to get back in touch with people I knew in secondary school, or is it a waste of time?

It depends on what they were like back then, and how they treated you.  :chin:
