Shit. I always thought Mensa was tough to get into.
Like you were supposed to qualify as a genius or something. :P

1250 is nothing.

All it requires is that your IQ be in the top 2%.

"All"? 98% of the Earth's population or >6 billion people will never reach that level.
Fortunately, anyone with above average intelligence would be able to get in with enough practise.

If by "above average intelligence" you mean a person with an IQ of above 100, then I don't think any amount of practice could change a person with an IQ of 110 into a person with an IQ of 132, which is the Mensa cutoff score on the Stanford Binet or Woodcock-Johnson IQ tests.
Anyone with above average IQ could learn all the answers. These things are very cheatable.

Well, I have never tried to cheat on an IQ test, but I think that the actual questions on them are closely guarded secrets and they are changed regularly.

What one could do to improve one's score is perhaps take similar tests to learn the testing format, but I don't believe one could memorize all the questions and their answers.

I think insecure people still take IQ tests.   I only took one... and that was in elementary school.   It was good enough to get me into the Gifted program.   I don't need any further valuation of my intelligence.
:P   Internets are super serious.

Doesn't that bother given how little we know about them?

It would bother me.  You could be lead falsely, and your growth inhibited.

So? That 2% still leaves room for a lot of morons.

The only actual IQ test I've taken (though they stopped me part way through, for whatever reason)
had questions that I had seen on CAT tests, in the past. Indeed, I had gotten one of these wrong
before, and still hold that my answer was more correct, although I chose the one desired on the IQ test. :P

I've always been vaguely curious, but I just don't have the focus to pay
attention on the online ones. I hate thinking on the computer, so I usually
end up crapping out around 140. :P

Nah. The tests aim at something I'm a natural at.
Doesn't really indicate shit about a person.
