Got my new gadget today birthday/anniversary present.  It's kinda weird it's a Geiger counter it came with some U ore too to test it :green:  I will use it in testing antiques such as fiesta ware and radium dials there is a whole host of funky stuff from the tun of the century that's hot too.  I always wanted one.  So what are your favorite gadgets?

Not very.  Have some military radios from WW2 with Radium paint on them though

From what I remember radium can be really nasty.

Two major changes in my life today - the doctor has sanctioned me to have a codeine addiction and I cried laughing at a new discovery:

So what are your favorite gadgets?

Anything with an OLED display on it, like my MP3 player.  When OLED first hit the market, I had hoped it would replace LCD in lots of mundane gadgets, but it didn't.  I guess that has something to do with it not being as readable in direct sunlight.  Looks great in the dark, though.

Too bad radium is nasty.  I like the idea of gadgets that light up even when there's no power being applied to them.  How safe are tritium vials?

Torque Top Uni Driver. Contains three Phillips-head, three Robertson-head and a slot-head screwdriver. Makes a pleasing jingle when twisted.

Tritium is pretty safe but it's gray market in the US not really legal but you can get them in most other parts of the world. You can get them here http://www.unitednuclear.com/ without worry of importing them

I have so many gizmos and gadgets it's hard to pick just one as my favorite.

I had my serger repaired and I had really been missing it, so maybe it's my favorite right now.

It's a cool gadget. It doesn't replace maps--it's just a modern version of one. And I love browsing the built-in map of Western Europe. ;D

I forgot to mention my cameras, several of them.  Rather than distract this thread, I'll save the details of that collection for a future thread.

I'm considering purchasing a GPS unit for two purposes: for geotagging photos, and for not getting lost while hiking.  I've been looking at what's on Amazon, etc. to try to figure out which are crap and which are good.  Whatever kind I get, I want to be able to save a record of the route and download it to the computer, preferably with an SD card instead of internal memory.
