All the potato talk made me all giddy inside ... I made a German-style potato soup, except I start with bacon instead of some form of bratwurst. On top of crispy, well done bacon crunchies, goes an onion and, once it is cooked through, the potatoes and some dill go in. As the potatoes are cooking I add some riffles of unfinished noodle dough, kind of like micro-dumplings, for added texture and interest. Simple and delicious.
