numpty is SUCH a great word.  :D

you could try "Abaddon", if you want another satan/lucifer/beelzebub reference.  i know loads, by the way - my first novel is about angels, their hierarchy and all that sort of stuff (amongst other things).

sort of ground to a halt on the last one, through lack of being botheredness and depression.  it's all mapped out, though, and in my head - all i have to do is actually write the sodding thing.  it's my fourth novel.  working on getting the third one published, at the mo.  thoroughly depressing, to be honest - it's sooooooo subjective and hit or miss.   :'(

mine's a little bit less straightfoward than that, i bet you're shocked t ohear.  my writing has been described as "magical weirdism".  can't imagine why...

it's very dark and somewhat outlandish at times, though, although not "fantasy" (nowhere near).  a writer friend of mine describes it as a cross between joanne harris and angela carter.  i was thrilled...  ;D

'fraid there's no pictures.  and i think dogs are a waste of time, especially ones called Spot, so he wouldn't be interested in any of my books, at all.

Dionysus, name for the Greek god of wine.  Nice nickname:  Dion.
Here's a link:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionysus

update:

my wife is now refusing the name eamonn altogether.
she says that the other kids will call him semen.
so i ask, "what's wrong with being a sailor?"

Boston Robert Trimmer is the most likely at this point.

i told her i will call him Bert.
Misunderstood.

It's up to you two but i've never once been called seamen in my puff. "Bots-on Bobby Rimmer" could be your kid's nickname now, unfortunately. :(

Misunderstood.

What about the name boaby/bobby. Does that have the same connotations in the US as here. If so then Bobby Trimmer might be made fun of too.

BRT?  he may be called BRAT.

and if you could really countenance filling out the form while your wife is in that condition, you're far less of a human being than i thought, mcj - i hope you were joking?

i think my favourite boys' name is Elliot; i'm not sure why. although, i wouldn't recommend naming anyone  Elliot as it's a bit of a red flag for bullies.

i quite like the name Harold too (but shortened to "Harry").
