Vangelis was amazing. I've been listening to him since the 70s. I literally grew up with his music. I was amazed to find out that while he was a pioneer of electronic music, he performed most of his work live - at least it's what they say now, and it gives a whole other dimension to the B side of "Chariots of Fire" that always, always felt to me like an improvisation and a performance more than a soundtrack.

He is sorely missed. :'(
