You're not. You're not even the only one to site Lent in odd ways. I know a few Catholics, still.

Giving things up is difficult sometimes, even for such a quick-passing thing as Lent. I see the typical Catholic, giving _______ up for Lent as a Binge And Purge in the name of Lent, then an immediate Binge, once again, with no other responsibility required until Confession. I know you are not Catholic, but you see it, too, I'll wager.

They can't explain this away.
