What 3 books do you regret reading?

What 3 books would you take on a sojourn on a deserted island?

1. I tend not to finish the ones I don't like, but I rarely regret reading. Ian Mc Ewan's "Solar" is the latest one I let go. I've been trying to finish that for ages but it just doesn't work for me.

2. Right now, "The Martian" would be on the top of my list because I'm reading it and so obviously need to know how it ends. I might also pick "The Secret History" (because I always love rereading it). Picking a third is anxiety-inducing in the same way as choosing something to read when travelling on cabin luggage only. Just thinking about it makes me want to :GA:

I might pick a grammar. Or a technical book. Or that Orson Welles biography I want to read. Or any one of the hundreds of books in my pipeline. :GA: :GA: :GA:

Some Star Trek books that have insulted my intelligence.

The Harry Potter offshoots that I haven't read yet. About to start The History of Magic.

I remember a few Star Trek books from the 80s that I gave up on very quickly. :P

1. "The life-changing magic of tidying up"

People with OCD should not read cleaning books written by people with OCD...it takes things like folding clothes to a whole new level.

2.  Anything by Stephen King, and survival books.

Regretted reading the book, Psychic Warrior. Not sure why picking it up. Like memoirs, so maybe it was in that section. Incredible tales told by credible people can be a bit disconcerting.
