A primary head has barred teachers and pupils from talking about Christmas.

Jane Porter has ­threatened to cut playtime privileges if children mention it before Advent begins on Sunday.

Dad Robert Dalton, 31, said: “Kids have Christmas rammed down their throats yet they can be punished for mentioning it. It’s wrong.”

Ms Porter, head of Whitehill School in Gravesend, Kent, said the meaning was lost if it was celebrated early.

She said the ban would apply to talking about anything “not related to school”.

I wonder how long she has been teaching, she certainly doesn't look to be fresh out of college you would think by the time teachers reached her age they would know that arbitrary rules like this are counter productive
