Popular or not, they are still dirty whores

Untrue, just all whores. Not all are dirty whores; there's also appropriate whores. It's what defines a keeper. Everything has a time and a place. Men want a whore in the bedroom, just for their very own, not everywhere for everyone.

And women don't. Noooo that's insane! Women have no real sex drive, that's a fucking myth!

And on this note, I've tried walking the paths of many "isms". After all my pap always told me that you never know how rough a person has it until you walk in their shoes.

I tried atheism. I tried atheism plus. I've tried being a Christian. I tried feminism. I tried Satanism even. Every single one of these was mostly focused around recruiting people to their interests, which made it seem great at first. But then you learn what its actually about. Rather quickly if you aren't a cattle type mentality. And its centered around bullshit.

The only one I've yet to try, is the male rights association. Should I? Is it just a waste of time? I'm kind of sick of "isms".

Have any of your memberships in these various groups permanently you changed for the better?  :orly:

Try voluntarism.

You mean walk the path of the libertarian party?

I learned a long time ago, that all the political parties are just soul crushing tentacles connected to the same monster, dude.
No. He means volunteer to help out some where in your local community eg. helping wire up a PAL club house.

Oh i'm a big brother rep, as well as a regular volunteer at three local animal shelters. I also join up with a group of people now and then, and we pick up trash downtown and plant flowers and stuff.

That is fantastic.

I agree with you about the isms.  After having tried a few on over the years I now exercise extreme caution in such circles.  I prefer to form my own ideas rather than latching onto the ideas of others.  I listen and consider of course, and if the idea is meritorious I will adopt it myself, but I  hesitate to identify with a group based on an idea.  Such groups are inherently stunted by their rigid beliefs, unable to grow and adapt over time unless they are willing to redefine themselves as a whole, which is rare.  In this way I only have to examine my own motives, too.

It is difficult for a black-and-white thinker to adopt this attitude until one has had some personal experience in different camps.  The idea of "right" and "wrong" groups isn't conducive to growth and cooperation.  Opposing camps are unlikely to be open to the ideas of the other, and behavior is often motivated by rivalry rather than ideology.

I am a non-militant atheist.  I suppose I'm more of an apathist, although it does bug me when others delude themselves.  I try to remember that for many it is a necessary phase in life.  Hell, I went through a religious phase, albeit a grief-fueled one.  Nobody ever stops to wonder if the questions (are there deities?  is there life after death? etc.) are ridiculous or not.  I don't fall into any clear category because I define my own ideas.

As for the male rights association, I think it is necessary to bring about some long overdue social changes.  I just wouldn't become so wrapped up in it that you're not evaluating their ideas objectively.

Are you implying that I am deluding myself?  Maybe.  Wouldn't be the first time.

It isn't because I look down on the religious.  Well, I try not to.  I've been there and I feel bad for them.

It is far better for people to hate you for doing the right thing than for people to love you for doing the wrong thing. Never ever forget that.
