Someone once game me some advice about fear of strays. They said they even had to use it in a dog attack and it worked very well.  Imagine a human with arm outstretched, like the crucifix position. A dog's anatomy isn't designed for their front legs to do that. In the instance of a dog attack, attacking that part of their body is very effective, even if one can only do it to one leg.

In all seriousness I have two cats I love to pieces and while there are times when they behave in a deranged manner they are usually lovely.

Why the fuck do people have dogs and keep them in the backyard all fucking day and ignore them? The useless things bark non fucking stop because nobody pays attention to them. My whole god damn neighborhood is like that.

Yeah there is a house near GA's that does that. The dog barks non-stop. I wish they would walk it or something. It must get really bored stuck in one place all the time.

I have GA's cat sitting next to me. He jumped up on the chair to be with me. So cats do like company I think. But he is also very food oriented heh.

Or, you could go the "humane" way and give the dog a lethal injection. Whatever.

And, they need training not to bark all the time.

Depends a bit on the breed, some dogs yap or bark more than others, but, the way the owner deals with the noise makes a huge difference.

I agree. The house where the dog is fronts onto a busy road and there's people going past all the time.

Rather than killing the dog, it would be better if it had a new home where it would get better attention paid to it. I think it gets left alone for ages at a time.
