What do you think about bibles being placed in hospital wards? Should it be stopped?

No reason to stop it, some patients will appreciate having a Bible in the room,
and those who don't want to read it can ignore it.

Shouldn't people bring their own bibles with them though, if they want a bible?

It is dirty and spreads germs.

Also that's the last thing I'd want to see if I was ill - wow a bible, they must think I'm on my way out

Someone who is rushed to the hospital after an accident or unexpected illness probably wouldn't have his Bible with him,
and might appreciate having one to read in his time of stress. If they're in every room, there's no need to take their presence
as a personal comment on your chances of survival.  :P

Of course, the germ issue is another thing entirely. Unfortunately, there are many other potential sources of infection in hospitals.  :-\

There are, but we shouldn't add another completely unnecessary one. Like removing toys from doctors waiting rooms.

Tough shit if someone hasn/'t got their bible and wants one. What about people of other religions? What about someone who has something non-religious but very important to them?

I think the whole bible thing is very stupid

First thing I do when I get to my hotel room is remove the filthy book and toss behind the vending and/or ice machines. I find it very offensive to have it in my room!
