Got back from London and now I'm off to Edinburgh to stay with a friend for a few days. Gonna be awesome!

Enjoy the weather there; it gets about half the annual precipitation of Glasgow.

There's a significant east-west divide; most of the rainfall comes from Atlantic depressions that blow in from the west, and the upland areas along the west coast produce a rain shadow towards the east.  It's especially pronounced in Scotland where we're directly exposed to the Atlantic and have a lot of mountains; England and Wales are already in the rain shadow of Ireland.

Both my holidays in the most blue and grey area's of those maps were beautiful. Four weeks in total, only two days of rain.  :2thumbsup:
