Burning Man - Black Rock Desert, US
« on: October 11, 2010, 04:37:23 PM »
Anyone been to this mad gig? My man wants to go (a friend of his has just been) but it sounds a bit too much for me, so my man will drop me off and I will be paying a visit to all my friends in the US. Get the spare room ready and some mojo for good Italian food. :zoinks:

Yeah, he wants to go, but I don't, so we thought we could travel to the US together and he would drop me off somewhere at a mates house, while he went to Burning Man.

Did I read your post correctly, dear one?

It looks interesting but so many people :GA:

So it's sort of like an art festival type thing with a twist. I thought at first it was a Pagan ritual thing, but if it's only a festival of some sort. If you have doubts and don't want to go, then hash them out.

Thanks Steve-o. I think sig other just liked the idea of being able to do whatever he wants and get high all day and run amok. I think he was also hoping that he would see some hot nude chicks with flowers painted on them, or paint the flowers on them. He is madder than a cut snake. No fear in my man. I told him that if we went to US and he went to burning man and got arrested or thrown into a psych unit, I would not bail him out ;) I mean we are talking about a guy who rides his dirt bike off cliffs and feels no pain. Scary. I would be scared for the poor people at the festival. :green:

Pagan festival sounds more like something I would be interested in

Oh shit. Let's hope they don't decide to do an Australian Jackass or Viva La Bam. I like the show, but they are crazy.

Yeah, no fear of that I think. Left to his own devices, he does tend to do crazy shit, but he has settled down a bit now that he is a step-father and all. Wants to stay alive for the boy ;). But it is amazing to watch a personality like his "wind up". I can tell by his mood when he is starting to get "confined by gravity". So, I chuck him out the door with his dirt bike and tell him to go and throw himself somewhere.

The last time he came of his mountain bike was on some huge mounds on a BMX track. He came down from such a high height that he knocked himself out from landing on his face. He became conscious after being out for about 5 mins and drove home. I was greeted by this man with cuts and bruises all over him, bleeding everywhere, with a broken foot. He refused to go to the hospital until he realised he couldn't walk 2 days later. Freaks me out. Nitro Circus with Travis Pastrana is one of his faves.

I say, ever heard of "calculated risk", honey? Take the risk or die, he says. Probably why I just love his arse. The complete opposite to me.

Dale Buggins comes to mind. Hope your fella doesn't end up like him. People need to be more careful with stuff they do - life is too short.
