Depression as a lifestyle choice?
Does that really exist?

Emo?  :zoinks:

Aaaah, the dwelling and bathing in the pits of sweet despair and feeling good about that.
Such a happy social game  :evillaugh:

I pitty the depressed ones trying to find comfort in an emo world.
Pretty sure they pity themselves, too.
it is well known that PMS Elle is evil.

Emo?  :zoinks:

A fake depression, maybe. :-\

Perhaps I should have said, "Depression isn't EVER a lifestyle choice." A better attitude cannot be obtained merely by wishing for it. Doesn't work that way, at least not for me.

Externalizing would get more attention than internalizing.

i don't think people do "want" to be "depressed" for attention actually. i think it's the way they express it that can be for attention. but same goes for people who are genuinely depressed

I think people go with what they are good at when they are in an attention seeking mood.

When I was younger, not well. As an adult, I had to take anti-depressants for a while until I was able to start sleeping and eating again on my own. Before the idiots start with people shouldn't take anti-depressants rants, try going nearly two weeks with no sleep and little food. And I don't mean a cat nap here and there, I mean none. It...will...fuck...you...up, and no amount of natural remedies will help. Now, I'm at a point that if I get depressed I'm to able to handle it without pills. All times have been situational not clinical. Murphy's law likes me a lot.
George:I'd say I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not. I excel at not giving a shit. Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation beget disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A equals B equals C Equals A, or whatever. I also don't have a lot of interest in being a good person or a bad person. From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law

I gave up pills long ago for depression, simply because they fucked me up more so.

These days, I'm not depressed exactly, but dissatisfied with how living a life is defined. I see human life being so boring and predictable, with drones who indulge in meaningless conversations and parties, fulfilling primal interests of sex, violence and self-indulgence. I can't imagine myself bothering to pursue such a shallow life for self-fulfillment like that, but then, that's seems to be the mainstream definition of living these days. The true ambitions I want to fulfill are way beyond my reach or outright impossible, merely a fantasy I enjoy; so I see life for what it truly is and just live for the sake of living.

I don't feel depressed exactly, I feel a sense of pity for the world and feel alienated by it's customs.
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.
