Not shrinks, but a professional counselor who sat down with us individually and tried to facilitate dialog to address our conflict. I took a bunch of those personality tests and whatnot. You know...introvert, analytical, etc. I also had to read a book called 'Resolving Conflicts in the Workplace' or something like that. I also took some intelligence tests and she wanted sponsor me with MENSA, but I wasn't interested. I must have met with her a dozen or so times. What I had done was I sent a scathing e-mail to my group and copied my supervisor admonishing the other guy for changing my program's data in a presentation to the safety board, putting my reputation, and more importantly my program's reputation in question. Despite spending hours drafting the e-mail trying not to imply anything, but just trying to communicate my issues with what he did, a part of it could be interpreted as a personal attack, even though I really wasn't trying to. I fully accepted responsibility for my actions and admitted I did not handle it properly, but it got way out of proportion as he tried to get me fired.I was only months past the end of my probationary period with the government, so they couldn't.
