Its pretty gory once he becomes devilman, but thats part of its charm.

I watched the first episode, I may have to get into the rest.  ;D I've heard anime people talking about Akira before but I didn't realize it was translated into English as Devilman, so I didn't recognize it at first. I just finished watching Aquarion and being irritated with it. I like that they don't pull punches on the violence here.

Yeah its pretty violent. In the last movie devilman rips some chick's tits off and eats them. Lol.
