I don't do resolutions at New Years.  Fuck that noise.   Why wait until then to decide you are going to do something about your life?   Most people never do them anyway, its just a stupid tradition.

I do, because last year's worked (I stopped smoking a week after New Year and haven't smoked since). And occasionally I need a set in stone kick in the arse to make me do stuff otherwise I keep vaguely putting them off.

So mine are:

Spend less time on the internet

Get a rower with my Christmas and birthday money, and use it

Get some training sorted out, in the hope of being back in work this time next year

that'll do.

It all just seems a little bit too hard. I will do what I do and what I don't I won't. No doubt this time next year I will be pissed and confused and wondering what the fuck I did the previous year.

Try and do more tinkering this year and complete my projects instead of worrying if they will work or sell

I'm going to resolve to write a book. And I'll resolve to have it done by April! It'll be a new, interesting concept, all of my own original idea. It'll be to readers like the Matrix combined with Dungeons and Dragons. There may even be a film!  :zoinks:

Sounds like shadowrun.

Well, I won't ruin the premise, but suffice to say, I don't think I've seen the concept done anywhere yet.

Several years ago I made a New Year's resolution to stop having New Year's resolutions.   It's the only one I've ever kept.

i don't do new years resolutions really, the only reasoon im doing anything this year is because new year obviously ties in with my xmas holidays, and for november and december, ive been fucked up. so after a break from uni seemed like a good time to force myself to get back to how i used to me. so mine arent really new years resolutions, but the timing fits

Actually find out what having one standard drink (just one beer/hard lemonade/wine/whatever) will do to me.  I'm guessing that it'll hit me really really hard even in a small amount (I'm female, small, and have no tolerance for alcohol whatsoever), but I think it would be useful to know.

And seriously, if I don't make this a resolution, I probably won't do it, lol.  I have to resolve to drink.

Pity. Greed doesn't preclude such,
in and of itself. But, you'd have to
learn to be interested in me too.

Worried that you'll turn into your dad?  My dad drank, smoke and took tranquillisers, but I didn't inherit his addictive personality.  I'm more like my mum, who's worst habit is a penchant for baked goods.

The great thing about "new year's" resolutions is that the new year can start on any day!  :2thumbsup:

My resolution for the year starting today is:

Every day, in the words of AbFab's Edina Monsoon:

    "Wake up, kick ass!"  :fuckyeahdance:
