Title: Scary
Post by: Parts on October 25, 2007, 08:14:59 AM
I worry a lot about stuff like this a lot of the stuff I collect is questionable and considered dangerous by many people and in the age of Fatherland Homeland security it just adds to it.  I collect and sell a lot of military collectibles all harmless but they look dangerous. Like this among other things

Here is an article from a news station in NYC

Fake Grenades Set Off Jersey City Bomb Squad

Sean Adams Reporting

JERSEY CITY, NJ (WCBS 880)  -- In downtown Jersey City this morning a stagehand named Jason Slack had a panic attack at 3am. So he called an ambulance.

One of the EMTs noticed two pineapple grenades in his apartment on 5th Street. The EMT called the police and the bomb squad arrived, guns blazing, and evacuated the house.

Slack was handcuffed to a hospital bed for a psychiatric evaluation.

It turns out the grenades were hollow. They were purchased as novelty items at a yard sale for $2.

Slack was returned to his home.

I fear this will happen to me someday

I have an uncle who was arrested for stockpiling stuff of that nature to resell. His house was bulldozed and he was thrown in jail for a few years. But there was more to the story than just that.

Oh crap, better call mom & tell her to stop using that inert mortar shell as a doorstop.  ;D

Seriously this shit scares me too, did you hear about the 7 yr. old that got suspension for drawing a stick figure holding a gun?

Stockpiling yeah but all harmless stuff for me just questionable add that to my interest in amateur science I'm sure if they wanted I could have some real problems too

That is scary. :(  The Government just wants to have all the guns itself.  They will arrest a person with a firearm but than draft a solider and give him a big gun. The US government doesn't give a shit about peoples safety they just want to take peoples guns away so people don't build secret arsenals to kill them.

That's usually what they say before it happens.  I'd rather not be hassled by them myself.  My brother once had the bomb squad at his house for dummy bombs in his garden.

HAS been happening. Slowly but surely. And has been worse before.
If the founding fathers saw what has happened, they'd presume that
the bill of rights (and the reserve clause of the constitution) were mainly
discarded.

A lot of people see it. The US just made a
severe turn with 9/11, but it's been happening
all along.
