Stephen Colbert, standing 6 feet away from him, ranted a 24 minute fuck you to the president, the current administration, and american media.

i steeeled myself to sit still for 24 minutes, and was, in turns, delighted and perplexed - how the hell did he get away with saying all that, only a few feet away from the people he was giving a severe slagging to?

i didn't get a lot of the references, but then i ain't up on all the to-ings and fro-ings in US politics.

I don't know how he got away with it.  I really have no idea.  I half expected him to suddenly be whisked away by big burly men in black suits or see him get sniped.  But one thing is certain.  That rant was a thing of beauty.

Giant balls of steel that one. Reminds me of Mark Thomas, but our government wouldn't be stupid enough... I wonder if he is barred from being within a mile of parliament, considering hes a walking protest?  8).
