It gets better. My dog is going into labour and I'm going to have a box full of puppies by the end of the weekend.
Life is feckin' good.

Cool. What will you be, "Grandpa", "Pop", etc?
Will you keep a puppy?
Last year I became a Great Aunty.

I'll be called "Dave". My wife had a child from a previous marriage and she called me "Dave", so subsequent children and grandchild picked that up from her. If my own kids call me "Dad" I don't know who they're talking to.
I breathed life into a stillborn puppy yesterday and although really small it looks strong enough to survive today. I'm pumped about that.

My first stepdad was a Dave. He wanted me to call him Dad but he was always Dave to me. Now I have a Peter. I bought him a Father's Day card with Dad written on it so he may be happy about that.
That's totally awesome what you did with the tiny puppy. What breed are they?

Woke up to find that "Tiny" had died in the night. Oh well. It was always a possibility. We still got 8 puppers all looking strong. Mom knows something isn't right today. She's scratching around her box looking for something.

Great news about your granddaughter. Start remembering tales of your youth to entertain her. Maybe even write them in a book.
Sorry about your puppy. Life just isn't fair sometimes.

It's best that the kids don't get the details of my youth. I was lucky to survive it. They get editted highlights at best.

Ah but those are the most interesting stories.
-
Interesting, fun, scary.

Her momma likes playing with cameras.
-
I dearly LOVE the name!!
Advise the Mum to keep taking lots pf pics. One will mainly regret the pics that are missed due to lack of preparedness. Keep a camera by!
-
It is a nice name. Not all that uncommon here, in its Swedish spelling.

I suggested the Swedish spelling but daughter decided to keep it Anglicised.
The name came because we were all sitting watching "Vikings" box sets while she was pregnant. The baby's lucky she's not called "Lagertha".

The pups eyes are opening and they're starting to stand up.
