Hmmm, lots of dog-whistling racism in there. That's probably why you like this shit.
I've been to New York a couple of times, it is an awesome city. I'd gladly live there. Maybe not this year or next but.
-
didnt really seem to be about race at all
-
Which is why dog whistles are so effective - plausible deniability.
-
It wasn't a dog whistle at all; the black and brown people were blatantly called out as being black and brown. The American patriotic correctness was pretty funny coming from Britt though.
-
i dont really know what you are talking about black and brown people being called out?
he called out the mayor (who is white actually) for poor decisions.
-
a large amount of the video was against the mayor of NYC, I didn't really take much away from it besides that.
its funny that you people see racism everywhere.
-

That's true.
I was thinking more in terms of how he painted the increased crime as a "black and brown" people issue, and therefore made every other reference to increasing crime rates and people fleeing New York a racist dog whistle.
But still, that's blatant racism rather than dog whistling, nobody could reasonably deny that this guy is a screaming racist. So I stand corrected.

The extreme budget cuts of the sanitation department were really weird but interesting. Didn't know about that. They should defer all the prison savings to sanitation.
-
Talking to woke people is so tedious. "Dog whistles" really? You know that's the left wing version of seeing the all seeing eye everywhere, right brah? :lol1:
-
its funny that you people see racism everywhere.
This may be somewhat true of Jack. It's taken about fifteen years living in a racially integrated area to chill out enough to not actually see it everywhere, but baggage is baggage, so it probably still happens sometimes.
-
im sorry. my town is the most racially integrated. i live next to a Home Office immigration site, which is the government department responsible for that, and my town is full of immigrants. I grew up around them. I don't need to say I'm not racist because anytime you say you're not racist you immediately look crazy.
-
but what benefit would i have from being racist?
i used to be attracted mostly to white women, but now I am talking to black and asian women and even hoping to make one my new girlfriend. I have had a black girlfriend before, too.
nothing wrong with different races. black bodies are so nice as well. firm breasts, shiny smooth skin. lol why the fuk would i be racist.
-

:spitscreen: I don't think you need to worry about that Reggie...

Wasn't calling anyone racist, just making the point to MOSW there was no hidden message in that video.
-
ah yeah cool I know you weren't
I have had a few beers today btw so my posting style is influenced by beer as well today.
i guess sometimes i can be conceiving of everyone else as a single entity and blasting stuff out to them. everyone is just the same "leftie"
its a lazy mental shortcut, but it works, in a world where everyone acts the same.
-
because people take drugs from their doctor to make sure everyone acts the same
no one has any original ideas.
the beatles will never come back
we are in the new world order. we just are.

i've never met anyone who believes physical attraction to a certain type, or not, has anything to do with racism. :dunno: Know why I call Sugarbutt, Sugarbutt? Because dat ass is so sweet and white. :zoinks:
-
Racist people are usually unaware that they are racist.
-
is that why you keep pretending not to be racist? :lol1:
-
is that why you keep pretending not to be racist? :lol1:
Most people have at least some subconscious racism. Myself included. Where have I pretended or claimed not to be racist?
The difference between us is that I work on it and try to be better.
-
I'm not a normal person, I'm an engineer
-
I'm not a normal person, I'm an engineer
Just quietly, you're not a normal engineer either. :boatfish:
-

I'm fortunate I can be intolerant toward everyone, and it's considered acceptable. :zoinks:

If you're the one hearing the dog whistles, you're probably the dog. :hahaha:

Reggie has no intention of using this forum for anything other than spamming. How long do admins put up with this usually?
-
I thought your boy odeon was an admin? Anyway, one man's spam is another man's gold.
you need to understand this is not spam. if the indicator in your car said you had no petrol you would get some petrol right??
well im telling you you have no spunk left in your balls. its all gone. if you had spunk you wouldnt be getting upset that your own joke thread turned into a joke thread?
-
oh wait, this is my joke thread. So I dunno why you so up tight :dunno:
im trying to get the vaccine companies to release the cure for whatever they did to you that makes you act so sour.
-

Probably depends on how bad it gets. Hasn't' spilled over into many threads other than their own, and their own threads aren't absurdly numerous. At least it seems that way because the threads are all contained to a single sub-forum. Doesn't really seem to be encroaching on other people's ability to use the site or converse about other things, and sticking mainly to their own threads in one forum makes Reggie fairly easy to ignore.
-
people dont want to ignore Reggie
the truth bombs are worth it
-
Do I have too much autism for the autism forum?
-
I am reading FAD posts its just that I disagree with all of them . im not a communist. I think FAD should go back to cuba.
-
I think we should all ignore him at this point.
-
aspartame makes you weak.
you think you have strength training but one diet soda will undo that buddy

Where is the gold then?

Just assumed FAD meant a sinbin, but it seems the result would be much the same, except with Reggie being contained to a different sub-forum.
-
I claim free for all. Now I'm going to take on the vaccine companies
-
I'm not antivax I just fucking hate vaccines
-
Nah, I don't think you do. You're here to troll, aren't you?

Yes, but you're not mdagli1.

Did Reggie just screw up concealing that, or was it an oversight here?

Guessing he screwed up. He's had a few IP numbers since he joined.
I'd say Reggie is McDangly and this latest persona is just a trolling effort.

It's not very secret if you post about it.

I'm beginning to think that Reggie is McDangly returning with a new shtick.
I called this over a week ago without access to IP's.
This is a much better version of him, he can actually be funny from time to time.
Given how quiet this place is, he does liven things up a bit.
-
That true.
-
It would be great if he actually contributed to discussions as a whole, at the moment it just seems like crap trolling/spamming.
Easily ignorable? Sure. Still annoying.
-
Also true.
-
This is a reasonable dialogue we are having, asshole.
-
McDangly and Reggie seem very similar. McDangly was more morose and Reggie is just whacko. But that could easily be explained by being on different meds and different substance abuse now.
Both were software engineers.
-
Theres probably more than one aspie who does drugs
-
i think wretchmachine would really like mephedrone '

It could also be explained that I rescued mdagli from his own doom and gloom, by realigning his ultrasonic energy with prophesies of the dreamscape. :zoinks:
-
Either way, I think they need to fuck off. :zoinks:

^ You just hate the English you potato wog! :smarty:

NYC is what it is. I lived there for 4 months, drove me crazy, filled me with wonder and taught me a huge lesson in life being there on MY OWN. I survived and learned to thrive thanks to that place. The museums, bookstores, theaters and awesome people that I met made a difference to me. Last time I was there was for a WhoCon. Awesome.

My first trip to NYC was in 1999, for 3 days by myself, I flew over from London and did a stopover in Iceland on the way back. It was around October. That was also my first time in the US.
It really felt like being on a giant movie set. I could really imagine living there.

That to. It is like a giant movie set. The drama, the terror, the anxieties, the wonder, the energy.......my eyes were opened to a huge new world. I probably could still find my way around there, using the subways and hiking the avenues. If you can't find it in NYC, you won't find it anywhere!
-
It ain't what it used to be.

You did, and you deserve credit for it. Also, you're right - this is a better version of him and I'm not about to ban him unless he reverts to his old ways.
-
Re NYC, I like it. It's an amazing place. That said, I'd not want to live there. Were I to move to a bigger city, London would still be my choice.

Having lived there once, I wouldn't do it again. Nice to visit, but, after awhile it got on my nerves. I prefer open spaces and a modicum of quiet for my mind and soul. Maybe the city never sleeps, but, I do.
-
You need to be making a big whack of cash to live well in NYC or London. Or Sydney to be fair. On a more moderate income there are much better places to live.
London weather is depressing as well.
-
i make so much money that i cant but help but live in london
and i fucking hate it
its shit

It's probably better than the camp us lefties will put you in. After the revolution.

That's the other thing about big cities......the cost of rent or owning a place is astronomical. And the price of parking is another added thrill.
-
If I lived in NYC or London I probably wouldn't own a car.
I got by fine living in bigger cities than those without a car.
-

I got by fine living in bigger cities than those without a car.
This is an argument against big cities, it incentivizes a dependency class.
I have a 4x4 truck, I can live a life largely independent of infrastructure.
:LMAO:
-
I lived in an enormous city (2nd biggest city in the world by some standards) with barely any public transport infrastructure for about 8 years (Jakarta). You'd probably like it there Pappy, for reasons I won't expand on. Or at least you would have liked it there during the early noughties. I walked a lot, getting home from work involved either a 20 minute walk or a 40 minute taxi ride, it was literally that bad. That lack of decent infrastructure was about the one thing that I didn't like about the place. In terms of public transport infrastructure Bangkok leaves it for dead, For getting around in Bangkok the best strategy is probably living in an apartment near a subway or skytrain station and only catching taxis very late at night.
I live well out in the burbs in Sydney, surrounded by bushland, and I quite like it. Public transport is largely non-existent though and 2 car families are the norm. NYC is one of the few western cities that I reckon I could live in without ever getting bored, but that is based on a couple of trips of a few days each.
I am a master at getting lost, I lack much of an innate sense of direction. I got lost on the subways in NYC, got off at some random station, walked up the stairs, stood in the middle of the street like a big fat stupid white tourist, looking at my giant fold-out tourist map of NYC, and then realized why I was the only white dude and people were looking at me funny. I was smack in the middle of Harlem.
-
If it were possible to easily get by without a car, definitely wouldn't own one.
-
If it were possible to easily get by without a car, definitely wouldn't own one.
Then again, if it were possible to easily get by without a home, would definitely live in a car.

You can. :M
