So, Trump thinks Google is rigged (https://money.cnn.com/2018/08/28/technology/donald-trump-google-rigged/index.html).
I decided to test this. I entered "idiot" in the search field. The screenshot shows the top results.
Seems to work.

Up to 3 for 3 now!

Moron and asshole work fairly well too. :zoinks:

They lie about Trump?

They lie about Trump?
All the abuse Trump takes will only serve to keep him there.
-
Abuse?

Abuse?
The more they call him a fascist, the more they call him an idiot, the more they scweam and scweam and stamp their lickle feet, the better it gets. It's really delicious.
-
It is funny. Hold on to your hats too everyone. Bruce Ohr is spilling beans. This will have a knock on effect and the house of cards will come down. Everything they tried to pin on Trump will get dropped in the laps of such folk as Clinton, Comey, Lynch, Brennan, Yates and such. I think even Obama.
I have no doubt this is true but IF they do not win the house and senate off the republicans I am interested in who cuts deals, who slips away and who goes down because regardless of who the main charges land with, I think the fallout will incidentally hit others. It will be a trainwreck. It will be awesome.

The question is how to stop an autocrat from consolidating power. Is the risk from polarization greater
than that from ignoring? Is there a middle path that isn't obvious?

It is rigged. But not just against the right. Anything that goes against the establishment. It is part of the fight back against "fake news".

That's what Trump is for. To finally fight back against the hatred of the politically correct establishment, those people who hold us in such contempt. Trump is a gift to America, he's cleaning house and sorting out the idiots. Brexit is Britain's gift of life to itself. All the smart eyes in Europe are on Britain. They'll say "it's Britain again". Mark you my words. What have they been doing now, giving gifts to the world like they do.
"[I am] an Englishman, and have subsequently drawn the greatest prize in the lottery of life."

Trump is a buffoon with no filter. He is no better or worse in essence than other politicians, but his buffoonery acts as a very effective smoke screen from the real issues.
-
Whilst there are certainly politicians as corrupt as the Cheeto-in-Chief, they don't rise so far.
Scrutiny of their criminal dealings usually gets them in trouble fairly early. I can't think of
another case that comes close. Really corrupt administrations usually have been fairly clean
at the top. Reagan and Kennedy's mob ties seemed more incidental than a key part of their
current business. Nixon, though he stooped to treason (hey Reagan too!) and got caught on other things,
again wasn't running a criminal enterprise to begin with.

I disagree, not about the smoke screen but about him not being any worse than other politicians. He is, because most of the others know how to play the game. He doesn't. Hell, even George W knew how.
-
Yup. He is not playing.
-
Nineteen year olds can not buy a pistol, so lets put them in tanks and give them 120mm cannons.
:autism:

Yup. He is not playing.
You may not understand the finer points here but this is not a good thing.

A politician with ill intent who knows how to play the game is more dangerous than a politician with ill intent who sits on the toilet at 2am sending crazy tweets. Knowing how the game is played would only make Trump more dangerous. IMO.

Which would make him less dangerous, because he is in fact utterly clueless?

It's hard to tell. History is full of dangerous yet seemingly ridiculous dictators.
-
He's a buffoon with the self control of a 5 yr old IMO.
Running around with not only the keys to armory, but a whole military force at his disposal, the nuke codes, and an army of crazy Evangelicals thumping their bibles in unison marching behind him.
You would think with all that praying and laying on hands they do one of them would at least recite an exorcism rite just to be safe.

On some levels Trump is less dangerous because he doesn't know how the game is played, he makes a lot of noise though. On another level if he is allowed to call the shots in the event of a major international crisis, we could all be in a lot of trouble.

Yes. Great narrative you all share. How has he handled ISIS? North Korea? Syria? Yup keep up with spouting of propaganda and pretend that it was both iriginal and rational thought

You need to understand the pathology of a chronic shit stirrer. Notice in historical context he has thrown stones into a still economy and bought between the ripples to his own gain. He is doing the same thing as our President. Unsustainable, but just look at our "averages" climbing against past years.
Not always in agreement, but lowering our taxes is a big thing! I am considered upper middle class in yearly income and my taxes should go down by about six thousand dollars with next year's tax return.
That and no longer penalizing people who have yet to figure out their own family's health care third party pay program is huge as well.

Corruption in politics is nothing new. He's just taking it to a different level.

Might depend on your exemptions. But yeah, I see some boost from this.

This year's taxes will probably be the most complicated I have ever had to deal with. My earlier statement came directly from my strategist who has already done year end projections for us and advised us as to how much to pay in upfront taxes.
-
You'll most likely have to pay for your lower taxes in another way. Such as his trade wars.

Possibly, but you are talking to an older fellow who has everything he needs and most of what he wants, generally speaking.
I think it will come down to a wimpy, over hyped "last man standing" scenario. Which diverse economy will last or suffer the least and who blinks first.
Maybe some are unaware of the kind of one-sided trade deals we have been dealing with for MANY years in this country, yes getting foreign items at market prices (a market that we mostly created, btw) benefits our citizenry.
It comes down to how we trade back what we have to offer, such as grains. Hell twenty percent is given away to third world needy places, but humanitarianism is another subject.
Having our goods prices doubled at the dock or abandoned to rot because some lame distributor will not pay their own government's higher import tax this week has pissed a bunch of us off.
No one knows WTF President Trump is going to do next, but he is at least doing things. We have suffered four Mr. Milquetoast presidents in a row. It is about time a president with Ball #1 working actually do something.
Just realized how utterly sexist that last remark is, but HEY! I am a regular guy and NOT being some form of sexist is something I have to force myself NOT to do.
If I could make it happen, I can think of many women who I know personally, who would make better presidents than we have seen in the past few decades.
Grandma for President!!
She's got ballz!
