Jesus.
WTF.
-
That's very interesting about France.
-
It's terrible 145 dead and 250 wounded
-
Horrible.
Very strategic planning. Striking at seven places around the same time. They thought it out well.
IS claimed the deeds.
-
Been avoiding the news lately, just pulled it up. :P
-
I still don't understand why the French are such assholes about forbidding the niqab. It's like they're trying to wind up extremists.
-
I only noticed this morning, reading the newspaper. My main source of news. Plus some MSN feed, but that is more mud than news.
Now looked into it a bit more.
Find that I am thinking about it a lot today.
The guerilla like tactic, hitting on so many spots at the same time is scary.
Also it is so easy to think up places where they could hit hard and dramatically, on "minor" targets.
-
And, it has effect. Poland stated they will not harbour any new refugees, because of Paris. Those refugees are running from the same shit that is causing what is happening in Paris.
-
Stuff like this happens in the Middle East all the time, no one cares, until they want to start a war of course.
Those "refugees" though are mostly young men and not even from Syria. We need to just stop creating refugees or the excuse for further flooding of Europe.
-
It's like they're trying to wind up extremists.
Christians have equal power as voters and Christianity a great deal of influential power within the US government. Maybe France can see it coming.

France has a big Muslim community. Talking about non extremist Muslims. They have the power to vote too.
Of the European countries, France is the one with the most bad blood in Northern Africa. And who knows, of all European countries, I think France is the one to have "freedom" the highest in their identity profile.

Yes, hence my first response to this thread, as was reminded of previous conversation. Of the world superpowers, France is the one with political leaders openly displaying racial and religious based motivations. Can only assume it's for a purpose, assume they're being allowed within the UN, and maybe even supposed to do it. Europe eventually has to stop spreading it arms to immigration, and climactic disturbances will justify those actions of cessation. The proverbial shit will hit the fan, and Jack thinks it will happen in France.

Immigration is a thing of all times. Even mass immigration. Sometimes wanted, slavery, inviting workers from other countries, sometimes not so wanted in the form of refugees. I don't think it can be stopped. Closing borders and wanting to keep everything the way it is is not going to happen. Change happens.
How to deal with the immigration is another thing.
Sometimes think my country did not learn a thing from what went wrong in the seventies of last century, now making similar mistakes.
-
Europe eventually has to stop spreading it arms to immigration,
I think you meant legs. :zoinks:

EU countries were not long ago quite difficult to gain legal citizenship; there's nothing stopping that from being the case again. As you stated, Poland may no longer accept refugees. Wasn't necessarily referring to closed boarders, but the boarders of France are currently closed.

Uh... France has a big community of robot dinosaurs? I know a few people who would be very excited to hear that.
Oh. Word filter. Nevermind. Which quality of life index are you going by?
@Jack, I'm not following your logic. If France could see it coming that religions were having a greater degree of power in their government, then... what? They would expect more terrorist attacks? Less?
-

Maybe we were talking about two different things. Was disagreeing with you, by not seeing France as trying to wind up extremists, but rather exerting early control over their own populace in order to force new immigrants to integrate and conform to the cultural norms of western society, before the cultural norms of islamic society are forced upon western world by a immigrated voting force who haven't assimilated. Maybe that's what France can see coming.
-
Ah I see.
I think that's a dumb approach, though you may be right that it's what they're doing. It assumes that majority Islamic voters would want to force all Westerners to conform to their values, rather than say live-and-let-live of each person following their own religion or lack of. I don't think that's true of moderate Muslims. From what I've read on the internet so far, moderate Muslims in first world nations have a similar reaction to news of terrorist attacks that we have here when there's another mass shooting. Please let them not be autistic, please let them not be autistic... Aw damnit.
One of the most striking things about moving from the USA to Canada has been how different the presence is of Muslims. It's extremely common here to see women in veils as well as people of a wide variety of ethnicities in native dress. Just walking through the mall downtown, not even segregated into specific neighbourhoods. Nobody's pressuring people to integrate and conform with the same fervor that they do in the USA. France seems even more conservative than the USA on that count.
-
That was a good post. For a moment, was thinking you meant France had it coming by banning burkas. If France is doing anything to wind up extremists, then it's from their recent air strikes on Islamic militant camps in Syria. Thinking only France cares about burka laws of France.
-
I wonder if this will result in a change of strategy in Syria. Ground troops and such.
-

So far reports say France has dropped approx. 20 bombs.
It was coming, I expected Russia to be the first after they lost that plane.
-
Paris, 129 dead, around 350 wounded.
Beirut, 43 dead, around 200 wounded.
Bagdad, 21 dead, around 40 wounded.
All last week. All claimed by IS.
-
There's also Kenya, with 147 dead. Not IS, though, but the other bunch of fanatics.

I saw that and thought surely The reporter has left off a couple or three zeroes or so.
Even twenty "well placed" bombs does not sound like a response at all.
I wonder if NATO Article Five will come into play here. I think it should, even though France has refused to help the USA on many, MANY occasions, even after our Ambassadors cited the agreements "We All" agreed to support.

Are you talking about the attack in April?

Slavery is not immigration. And no, it doesn't "just happen", it's forced migration to destroy Europe against the wishes of the people. Horrific change doesn't have to happen. If the people of the country wake up and stop voting for globalist crooks, they can stop it.

Technically, importing slaves is not immigration. But it brings other people in a country. Just like importing workers from abroad.
The long term effect is citizens with origins somewhere in their family lines from somewhere else.
There has always been migration, wanted and unwanted. Don't think you can ever stop human migration, without stopping the whole of humanity to exist.

It would seem so. As so many others, I missed it until it resurfaced in the wake of the Paris attacks.

This is completely different and off the scale. It doesn't compare to any numbers migrating to the UK ever. The difference with this and invasions is that our own elected and corrupted politicians are complicit in the forced destruction of our island.

I guess the phrase "we'll always have Paris" is not very PC right now.

I admire their grit. I agree with france, that you can't back down from these sociopaths. Never give an inch.

I agree. Time to go full dredd.

It's sliding down the page now. People have short attention spans.

It's just dumb. It's like a teacher saying, "I don't know which one of you did it, so you all get detention." Meanwhile you've got 29 innocent kids sitting there stewing in impotent resentment against authority, while one of them is planning a mass shooting.
Great. You've done absolutely nothing to prevent the mass shooting, and you've taught a bunch of potential well-meaning citizens that authority figures are arbitrary and indifferent.

Banning the head veils, under whatever specific type or name, is intrusion on personal space, it's clothing, and it's done so to "send a message", which in reality is a whole bunch of different messages, depending on who's listening.
Most likely the intended message wasn't even directed at muslims, but rather French voter bases, as a show of determination - albeit purely symbolic in its practicality

I AM THE LAW.

Several states in the US have anti-mask laws prohibiting hidden faces in public, some even include disguises like fake beards. Most note exceptions for things like holidays and theatrical productions where costumes are expected, but only finding three that make an exception for religion. The origin of anti-mask laws in the US relate to attempts to inhibit klan activity.

The best Judge Dredd costume I could come up with using items I had around the house.
-
Who's Judge Dredd?
-
A comic book character, I think.
