Title: T. I. D. E.
Post by: Queen Victoria on June 05, 2014, 10:41:28 PM
The idea behind this thread is to post your

T. = Temptations
I. = Ideas
D. = Diet
or
E. = Exercise

goals, resolutions, reminders, etc.

(Perhaps it can be stickied if we get enough posts?)

I will ride 150 miles and get down to 225 pounds by my birthday.

I will wash one load of clothes and go to the gym daily.

  One of my biggest temptations is food.  :devour:

  I love all kinds of things that may not be good for me   :cheese:   but sugar is probably worst.
  I need to cut out massive amounts of sugar, especially those Starburst Fruit Chews that so
  deliciously destroy my ceramic fillings and cause me preventable visits to the dentist.  :tard:

I had this idea about a new kind of version handling. I'm presenting a paper on it in August. I think it might actually change things at some level.

After a brief lay-off, 66.84 total miles ridden.
Actually worked with 2 lb dumbbells.

Cumulative miles = 68.82.

2 reps of 5 for each of the exercises.  Some with 2 lb weights.

Cumulative mileage = 70.02 miles.

Cumulative mileage = 72.01 miles.  I wasn't riding because of donating blood.  I can't do blood thinners for a couple of days before.  The turmeric I take as an anti-inflammatory also thins the blood, so not much exercise.

Yep, no passing out on the bike. You're doing great though.  :2thumbsup:

Resolution...de-clutter, sell more stuff, minimize, minimize, and minimize some more. I am helping a friend clean out her mother's house when she gets a days off work, her mom had to be placed in care (dementia). It is mind boggling the stuff one can accumulate.

I would go on one of my long treks..... then I would ride my bike once I lost twenty pounds or less.... Then I would try running again if I could get to the appropriate BMI

For the first time in over 30 years, the idea of losing weight does not scare me.

I gained 30kgs in a year.... I used to weigh 55kgs, did so for nearly 20 years and now this. I scare myself when I look in the mirror.

Temptations are all kinds of food, especially ice cream. I try not to but I am just so hungry all the time. My idea is just to eat healthier and not buy what I shouldn't eat in the first place so I don't feel tempted.

For exercise I have been going to the gym twice a week and doing treadmill, exercise bike, cross-trainer and weights. Also been doing the walking group once a week.

I haven't been to the gym since Monday.  I'm going back before next Monday though.
