Anyone on here impacted by it?
-
Some trees had to be cut down in front of my house. Lots of big branches everywhere. Some trucks blown over not too far from here. Nothing serious in my own life. The tweet Odeon posted in the weather thread showed the effect in my garden.

Was not aware it had the name St Jude storm. Had to look it up :hyke:
Think the Netherlands were hit the least hard of the North Western European coast countries. Did not get over windforce 10 where I live.
-
It's not called the St jude storm in Europe.
It was a lot of talk here about up to 45m/s winds and people were encouraged to stay at home etc, but nothing really bad happened here.
-
I've seen nothing. Its a little chilly out, but that's it.
-
Might be because it's a European storm :M
It's actually called St Jude storm in England. In Sweden it's called Simone :M
-
Well no wonder!

With us, it is just the storm of October 28th. :M
Two people died because of it in the Netherlands, so bit more than the average bit of wind. Did not let my girl go to school by bike today either. Was pretty sure not all the debris would have been cleared, and trees secured. It's a pitch black first two kilometers. When I took the bus to the town we normally go to by bike, I noticed lots of fallen trees and branches. And lots of debris on the not that much used bicycle paths indeed. Think I will again go by bus tomorrow. And hope for clear paths on Thursday.

Wasn't much of a storm here. They kept talking about it as the storm of the century but nothing much happened.

The century is young yet.

The newspapers were filled with that stuff before the storm. Now they are accusing the authorities of needlessly shutting down the city to protect its citizens during the storm.

Those journalists must be killed! Now do you understand why there were no journalists in the Roman Empire? :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr:

Everyone seems to be overly cautious with these thing and after they stand around patting each other on the back for a job well done the problem being it breeds complacency so when the real big one comes people shrug it off as just like last time. I say give people the details then let them figure out what to do it culls the herd and makes us stronger in the end :M
