Found an easy way to do so...thought I'd share my knowledge with others sense I've spent a lot of time on the net funny the web as a side note dose not have as much of an appeal after a decade of thinking it did weird eh? Anyways, here are the programs that have helped keep this puppy running well...
Defraggler is a great program but you don't need it if you know where to go to defrag your computer still it's nice to have and an easier way to defrag then right click right click blah:
http://www.piriform.com/defraggler (http://www.piriform.com/defraggler)
CC Cleaner is the bomb, clears eveything from rejrestery junk to cookies and then some, oh even start up nonsense you want gone! I love this program:
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner)
Privoxy is a God send to stay anon on the web, every bit helps and my computer connection is actually faster because I use this:
http://www.privoxy.org/ (http://www.privoxy.org/)
And of course obvious things like AD Block or AD Block Plus
and this new one I've found that I love to bits HTPPS Everywhere:
https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere (https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere)
So with these things in place my computer is running better then it ever has :yarly:

If you delete system 32 your computer will be much faster. :green:
-
I have those too malware bytes is another one.
-
Adblock Plus (https://adblockplus.org/en/firefox) is good.
NoScript (http://noscript.net/) is even better. It takes a while to learn how to use it properly, but it's very good against evil scripts.
-
Jack disapproves of these links.

Speaking of defragging disks, you should never defrag your disk if you have an SSD.
-
I highly doubt this is stuff most people on this forum didn't have a clue about.

I actually hadn't heard of most of those. I am a n00b and it's nice to have information. :)

Here's my helpful hint. Your computer contains useless programs called "browsers". You could de-hoard your hard drive by deleting them. :tard:

Don't you want to extend your de-hoarding to your computer?

I use ccleaner, mbam, hijack this, and others.
Hiren's boot cd is a nice geek tool...with a whole host of goodies.
I don't recommend the last two unless you know what you're doing with them.

Your mother is getting sued!
We're all getting sued!
wait.....
God Damn it!

Hiren's boot CD is quite handy indeed. Everything else though is common knowledge for even the semi computer literate.
However, what most people need is common fucking sense. That prevents 99% of computer problems!
-
The problem with common sense is that it's not very common.
-
:orly:
-
I'm too lazy to use common sense.

Ironic considering it's name!

Viruses are almost always brought on yourself.
I always eyeroll at my dad, when he tries to feign ignorance, "I swear, I only read El Pais - but I get SO many viruses!"
"Yeah, sure dad -.-"
"Maybe it's the girls! Yeah! They're all over strange and dangerous websites!"
"Yes, youtube and nrk.no*"
"Yes yes that's it!"
(equivalent to bbc... )
-
My dad knows that I watch porn a lot and rants about it sometimes. Despite that I never got a virus from watching porn since I know what sites to avoid and use NoScript on most "safe" porn sites as well.
My dad on the other hand has gotten a nasty virus at least twice. Of course he didn't watch porn when getting it ::)

He was probably browsing svt.se like a good, upstanding citizen!

oh gosh I got this funny idea...a virus from porn is like an STD only one can remove it unlike a real life one...yea my brain is a bit funny like that drawing odd parallels

Heh, fun idea actually - although your comic delivery is a bit "tantig" ;D

If you throw your computer out the window it will be really fast until it hits the ground.

Aw thanks I'm going to be an aunt soon so the delivery fits :)

Don't allow random websites 'clean' your computer. Microsoft used to have a good free registry error repair page, but it's gone now.
-

This is also a terrific way to get rid of any viruses.
-
For REALLY resistant problems, those that just don't get fixed by tools for the purpose and are too persistent to kill off manually, darik's boot and nuke.
Bear in mind that this is a program that runs off a boot disk and without confirmation, sterilizes the hard drive with a multi-pass overwrite. It will delete EVERYTHING, not just the virus/malware.
Unsure if it will delete hypervisor-level rootkits though.

This should have gone into my computer corner. Never mind.
My computer has been freezing, especially when I load pages with .gifs or play videos. So Ceilidh updated the graphics drivers yesterday. Used my computer for about half an hour today, tried to post something on here and it froze. :D Oh, what to do?

What happens if you restore the system to before the drivers were installed?
-
It will probably keep doing the same thing since it was doing it regularly before the drivers were installed.
My theory is that it can't handle working hard. It just overheats way too fast. Its fans are inadequate. Plus I live in a very warm climate which doesn't help.

It'll soon be summer down under. :P
You could change your power settings (if it's a laptop) to maximize cooling. Have you cleaned it recently?
-
I haven't run a laptop without an external cooler since the IBM. I learned very fast with that one that it was almost a must with it.

Yeah, I know. Summer is coming! It has already been hot for a few days.
Changing power settings (it is a laptop) will see about doing when I restart the computer because I have to go into BIOS to modify the fan settings. What do you mean about cleaning? Physically? Because my computer is pretty clean (I rarely eat or drink when I am using it). Or do you mean a type of software?
Might have to get a cooling pad.

Physically. Laptops have to be cleaned every so often (once every few months). If your laptop is overheating, the first thing that you should do is clean it. Look up instructions online for your particular laptop (or use a paper manual); print these instructions off. You'll probably need a source of compressed air, and perhaps a small screwdriver and a dry cloth.
Can't you modify your power settings through your OS? :dunno:
-
^There are spray cans with compressed air. Very useful for this sort of thing.
-

Not fan settings. Lots of other stuff though.
I will have to give cleaning my computer ago once the next few weeks are over, stressful events will be happening for me.

If you want to reduce temperature and don't really need to do very CPU intensive tasks, disable Intel Turboboost in the BIOS. From my experience it reduces CPU temperature by 10-15C but at the cost of significantly reduced CPU speed. Had to do that with my laptop considering I was reaching up to 90C while gaming (after disabling it, it dropped to 78C-82C at most). Most games seem to do fine without needing the extra speed turboboost provides (The Sims 3 however will suffer performance loss as it's very CPU intensive).
-
A not-as-technical way to "disable" Turboboost for testing purpose is to simply set the Maximum Processor State to 99% in Windows current power plan by Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings.
