When you throw the trash out, (A mans job) let us know here!
I just. threw the trash out! :blonde:

Just tossed a wrapper from a sandwich out the window into the bin to keep the dog from eating the plastic which he would do if I put it in the garbage in the kitchen

Maybe I should have gotten my nigger to do it.
Well, I just threw out Recycling. interestingly enough, recycling is a lot less heavy than normal trash.

Wheeled 3 bags out in the little wagon I trash picked last fall.

We seem to have more in the recycling bin than we do in the trash these days
I now am setting my goals high, when it comes to the trash, want to have my bin filled at least for 75%. Usually, it would last me for two months, where my back neighbours have two bins, and that is not enough to last them for two weeks.
Where I live now, we do not separate that much, for recycling. We've got a green bin, for all that is decomposable, then there is separate collecting of glass and paper and plastic. There is direct recycling, that goes to the thrift shop, they take all electrical appliances too. And, then there are the remnants.
Where I lived before, cans were collected separately too, and the place I lived before that, there was a even a special option for aluminum caps and wrappings.

Recycling isn't brave. The Romans didn't recycle. :thumbdn:

The Romans did. They even recycled urine, to use it as bleach.

I'm beginning to pick out shirts that I want to get rid of. I'm up to four.

muffin wrappers.

That's not much trash. How long does it take you to fill a bag? Do you have special city trash bags? :orly:

It's just muffin wrappers too. Those weigh nothing.
Maybe he got seriously obese, eating all those muffins, without sharing.

I should be collecting all my empty glass, and bring it to the glass bin.
Alas, they are underground containers now. The sound of breaking glass was really rewarding when they were above ground.

Semi, you'll be happy to know that I did not forget to put my plastic waste by the road this morning. I had forgotten to do that two or three times in a row, so, I had three bags. Then I suddenly saw the amount of plastic plant containers I had collected over time, and decided to fill a fourth bag with a lot of stacked pots too. So, four bags waiting to be taken away.

'tis bin day here! Our bin men do a good job, and they are very helpful. They call me "Miss" :zoinks:

I was trying out how that would sound.
I wanted to know if it was warm enough for the men to be scantily dressed, above the belt.

You're a brave Weeble, facing the polar cold, putting out the trash.
I hope the garbage people and trucks still work at those temperatures.
If not, there is one consolation, nothing will get smelly in the cold.

We seem to have more in the recycling bin than we do in the trash these days
My problem with recycling is; why should someone else make money off my trash.
Shouldnt there be a place where I can get cash for my trash?

The asshole at the recycling place takes more than half the money when my money trades her recyclables to him. When the owner is there, she gets a lot more money. Theif. She is going to tell her when she is back from her vacation. She refuses to turn in anymore stuff unless she is the one doing it.

Yes if it is recyclable. It is better to smash the cans and bottles to make more room.

Wish there was somewhere to haul the plastic and glass around here, especially the plastic. :zombiefuck: But there isn't, not local anyways...and we don't have curbside recycling here...in the next town over, not here.
Basically with trash I ask myself these questions as I am cruising the curbs before pickup...can I use it, can I scrap it, can I sell it, can I sell parts off of it?

It is recycling pick up here early tomorrow morning as well as the regular bin but I won't take the bins out until tonight when it is dark. Should be cool enough by then.

I just put out the trash and recycling. In Connecticut there is a five cent deposit on all water, carbonated beverages, and beer so no smashing cans and bottles here we turn them back in. When I was very young the scrap yard bought newspaper and rags, I remember going in the station wagon loaded with newspapers with my mother and my brother. I seem to remember that there was a place to take the glass also but we never did.

We have a 25 ct deposit on most big plastic beverage bottles here, and a deposit on some beer-bottles and crates. There are ideas to stop that though. Don't think that it is smart to stop that, now lots of plastic is being brought back, also because kids like to earn some money, when doing that.

According to Wikipedia, that deposit stops next year. :hyke:
Some US states charge five or ten cent deposit, but it's uncommon.

I threw out two bags of trash yesterday, and am beginning to fill the next Lysol-scented bag
to throw out next week! I love to see a completed bag of trash waiting on the floor for trash day. :2thumbsup:

I took out two bags of trash today, plus a bag full of paper and cardboard, and my recycling bin.

Lil' tikes needs to branch out and make some big garden carts, those damn things never last.

My town just switched to the giant bins on wheels that the truck picks up without the driver having to get out. I wasn't to sure about it at first but I have come to find I can get rid of a lot of my work garbage that they used to refuse to take if I mix it in properly with the household stuff

One of my neighbors put trash out in generic store-brand bags instead of the official city bags.
They're still there. The city won't pick up non-regulation bags. Clue in, neighbors! :soapbox:

Official city approved bags :zombiefuck: What are they sold by the mayors uncle or something? They don't care about the bags just the can here, they used to not like the big black bags because they thought you were hiding something they won't take. I put the stuff they bitch about in one of them now then fill it the rest of the way with white kitchen bags filled with regular trash

I think it's a way of raising revenue, like a tax to pay for the service. You can buy them at most stores. :P
-
Everyone just uses the black bags around here, crows will tear apart the white ones and the cans end up nailed by frack trucks or the snowplows on my route.
-
Our trash has gone down considerably since the city started taking compost. They take tissues and meat bones as well as the standard stuff.

They started using that method here in 1989. ;)

Before the new trucks showed up around here, there used to be two workers, one driving and one in the back, so just assumed the new trucks put half the sanitation workers out of jobs.

I think they have two people per truck still. Just in case something goes wrong or something. Something like putting stickers on the recycle bins for being a good recycler. I got one on my bin and it's still there.

Should put the green bin at the curb. Still haven't found a man to do it. Have not actively been looking for a trash throwing male. So my own fault that it's still my chore.

Tomorrow is trash day in my neighborhood. I need to get my stuff together! :arrr:

My trash day is tomorrow as well. Both regular and recycling bins go out to the kerb.

Now if only G.W.Bush's parents had done the same, preferably with a coathanger:P

I'm going to have at least one bag of trash this week, plus a full recycling bin. 8)

No trash or garbage pick up this Tuesday, Mardi Gras. Garbage on Friday as usual, garbage and trash will be picked up March 7.

It's a little after 5 a.m. and it's trash day. I have to fill a second bag! :arrr:

Put out regular and recycling bins - the recycling bin was full while the regular bin was only a third full.

Just got rid of two (smallish) bags of trash, and put out a bin full to the top with recycling! 8)

No garbage, trash or recycling pick-up today. It's Mardi Gras time!

Just hauled out a BIG heavy bag of trash. No recycling this week, too little in the bin to justify
making an extra trip downstairs. But I did get rid of a nuisance in my hallway. I don't even know
what it is, looks like it might be a door of some kind, there are three hingelike things on one side.
It's like a big-ass surfboard with hinges. Anyway, it's been leaned against the wall right outside
my front door for over two years and it had to go, so I hauled it through my apartment,
down the stairs to the laundry room, and laid it on the floor, hinges up. No harm, no foul.
The landlord won't care. The laundry room is a dumping ground anyway. :zoinks:

My red lidded general waste bin was put out on the kerb earlier, after I filled it with another 3 bags.
We have alternating weeks for our bins here, ie. recycling one week and general waste the next. The greenwaste/compostable stuff gets collected every week though.
My neighbours LOVE the smell of my bags of soiled kitty litter :zoinks:. And it just occurred to me why they always move my bin into the furthermost corner of the bin storage area :P. It was strange how it only started happening once I put padlocks on my bins though.

Kitty litter is heavy! In my previous home, where my landlady had seven cats,
I used to haul the trash bag to the curb every Thursday morning, and I had to stop every few steps. :zombiefuck:

For us, bin day was yesterday. The bin trucks usually come around at about 7am. Half an hour after I get up.
