Vladimir Putin - what do you make of him? He likes his ego stroking that's for sure, but not sure about much else.
How does he find time to run Russia?

Awww! Vladimir you are so macho. lol
Is he in fear of tripping over his enormous ego?
-
It sounds like you have a crush. :P
-
What I say is.......good on him. It has become, in recent times almost inexcusable or irressposible for men to do "men" things. I am so pleased we have a man in Russian government who is a man. If I was a politician I would be pleased to because there would be nothing to "work out"
-
Na, not a crush. I just think he is very 'active' for a 60 year old world leader.
Russia is a very interesting place, with an interesting history.

I agree and I like men who are 'men'. :P
It is a puzzle though, how does he fit it all in? :orly:

The real puzzle is how his girlfriends fit it all in. :eyebrows:

A lot of it's probably staged, but hey, at least it's better than golf.

It is a good question. Who are men? Or perhaps what are men?
Well men are biologically different to females (no I am not being insulting to your intelligence, please hear me out). They are robust and have thicker bone density than women and more mass mass and seem to be socialised and instinctually driven to competition an d physical prowess (fighting, risky activity and so on). A man's man will embrace such activities and understand them as being "in his sphere". They will not be alarmed or upset or find them confronting.
But there is a problem with such men.
They are mavericks and do not fit the controlled and accepted image of what men ought to be. Governments have taken the role of the "male provider" away. With men no longer being the means to security, governments have bypassed the maverick uncontrollable man who has no allegiance to the government.
The media would have us believe that men are dangerous or stupid and uncontrollable. Either the stupid Homer/Peter Griffin type or the dangerous abuser/rapist/murderer. If i asked everyone who was the largest proportion of victim of assault or crime, I would bet that most people would say "females" it would be wrong, dead wrong. Men are far more likely to be assaulted. They receive longer sentences too when convicted but are a higher chance to get convicted in the first place. But women fear assault far more and so the media uses this to escalate such fears in the same way that they did the 9/11 fear of "terrorists" to override reasonable laws with insanely overbearing ones.
So what is a man? I creature with very much simple tastes.
He is not concerned with the back, crack and ask, and if you mentioned it to him he would show embarrassment at the thought some men may be interested i such a venture. He has muscles and unapologetically. Feelings are something to be worked through not with good friends over coffee or a counsellor but by himself and through adversity. Fights are positive things to be embraced and fought over honour or difference of opinion and resolved ultimately. Things said ought to be said outright and not through sneaking around and manipulation. Sex ought to be a fierce and passionate with untamed hormones and appreciation of the partner.
Scars ought to be worn proudly as tattoes of a time when you defended your principles.
You ought to be ( as a man ) prepared to always "step up" either physically or verbally. Your honour dictates this. You get to call how important this is. You can always say "Look mate I think X BUT it is not worth.....(whatever action) so if you want to (whatever satisfaction he is happy to accept) fair enough". He also gets a say "he can say "No that is not good enough" In which case, it is on. A lot of fights do go on from here but apart from a bit of push and shove, most fights are no an "arse-kicking".
Men appreciate fights and fellow fighters. We trust our friends to have our backs if things go bad. If things go bad we will literally get in and throw the other bloke off your mate and your mate will know this going into the fight.
Men are competitive and trying t outdo the bloke next to him\. They may not make it obvious but we all know the score. Many levels to the competition but so long as you (as a man) feel you have it over the guy in one department, all good.
As a man you will know that women will exploit you because you are inheritally simple (simple not stupid but simple). YOu may lose money, access to your children, assets, have to expose your feelings, give up your forays into man activities, or whatever and men understand this and so any male friend getting a girlfriend is met with a "Great , good on you, you are gonna get some great sex, with you poor bastard you are gonna be from man activities.
(word of advise do not ask any man to confirm any of the above, they will deny it. It is how it is. They will forgive me for blabbing because I have not giving too much away. But ask yourself honestly, "what is this fascination with "man caves" the pub, the garage, the attic, the basement....) truth is, it is "timeout" because they are over being feelly, sharing, feminised humans. They are wanting a chance to be physical, active, controlling, masters of their domain. Accept it shake your head and move on. You do not have to understand it

Men are as highly complex, multifunctional and adaptable creatures as women.
Nothing wrong with men being traditional 'men' but not all men are so inclined. Some men show more 'feminine' traits. Some men don't like watching the footy with the lads down the local boozer. They are still men. I think men should be able to be whatever way they want without fear of being accused 'not manly'.
I believe this pressure to be a man in Russia is very high. Considering the law they have just passed.
And no i don't fancy the Putin bloke. Pyraxis made a point about 'staging' and I think i have heard stories about this, too.
I only posted about him as he seems to be a bit different from the other world politicians. Not sure how much is 'for the camera's' though.
-
I think he has ugly reptilian features.
-
Pictures are deceiving. I want to see videos of him instead ... and in action.
-
He is overblown ego run amok. And that bear is dead.
-
It seems like most of it is real, though.
100% macho: Vladimir Putin's ultimate action-man stunts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4igWP1CPREw#ws)
-
So the video shows that most of these "achievements" are supervised and meant for the camera, not because he is such a superman.
-
I was tired yesterday.
Yes, it seems staged on video.
-
??? I wonder if he would still engage in these activities if there was no camera's around?
Maybe it comes from being KBG!
The fact that he is capable of all these things is really something I suppose considering his age of 60 years.
I just wonder what the culture is like for young men growing up in Russia. A bit too 'macho' methinks.

Real Russian man action they don't want you to see :zoinks:
