World's richest woman Gina Rinehart is enduring a media firestorm over an article in which she takes the "jealous" middle class to task for "drinking, or smoking and socializing" rather than working to earn their own fortune.
What if she has a point?
Steve Siebold, author of "How Rich People Think," spent nearly three decades interviewing millionaires around the world to find out what separates them from everyone else.
It had little to do with money itself, he told Business Insider. It was about their mentality.
"[The middle class] tells people to be happy with what they have," he said. "And on the whole, most people are steeped in fear when it comes to money."

Are you on your way to becoming a rich person, using their mindset? :toporly:
-
Although, for me personally. I think its a pure tragity that desire creates. If you desire to be wealthy, then fine but don't shove your ethics about money on the rest of us you rich fucks. While I wouldn't mind having lots of dough I'm not going to worry about it or change who I am just to get wealthy
-
Good article.
It's not about changing who you are, just how you think.
-
Average people see money through the eyes of emotion. Rich people think about money logically.
I wanted a hell of a lot more detail on what he meant by that.
-
Interesting article I can add another thing about rich people from years of experience working on their homes in one of the richest parts of the a lot of them are fucking bat shit crazy
-
What kind of bat shit crazy?
-
I have seen or worked on houses built to look like a circus tent, an espresso maker and a quaint Adirondack cabin blown up to 28,000 square feet. Houses built exactly like their other houses in other cities filled with the same things in the same places, houses with cameras everywhere and this was 2o years ago with all the doors including the closets were wired with alarm wires. They do some pretty strange stuff
-
:FSM:
I never want to be that kind of rich.
-
Are you on your way to becoming a rich person, using their mindset? :toporly:
no. If I had too uncheck I'd just give it away. Try to help people with it. I can't be rich. I care about others.
-

no. If I had too uncheck I'd just give it away. Try to help people with it. I can't be rich. I care about others.
The problem with caring about people is that people are dicks. They will take advantage of your compassion without fail.
Caring is a terrible habit. I can't seem to break it.
Forgive me if I'm a bit pessimistic ATM. I tend to care way too much and it has burnt me pretty badly recently. I've put it behind me, but I'm still wary of human beings. Don't trust 'em. Vicious wild beasts.

im not afraid of getting the short end of the stick. Life is full of transactions. We literally make millions of them in our lifetime.
I believe that things turn out pretty equal in the end...you get as much as you give. You lose as much as you take.
I'm under no illusion that money is everything. There is also dignity, pride, joy, etc. you name it.
I'd be happy providing for my family and having a small circle of people that truly care about me.
Don't lose that caring spirit, aspie mommy, it'll work out for you in the end.

There are some people out there that aren't dicks they can be hard to spot but after awhile you can pick them out with reasonable success as for the rest fuck them

I've seen some crazy shit also that made me feel totally sane.

When I used to deliver pizza, the rich people who lived on the canals would always ask for their 5 cents change, whereas other people who were less affluent would usually give me a dollar or two as a tip.

Gina Rinehart is the epitome of rich greed IMO. I don't take anything she says at face value.
All that cash isn't even hers, it's her kids, which is supposed to be their inheritance from their dead grandfather's estate. She won't pay it out to them.

So did she earn any of it herself? And have her kids sued her yet? :orly:

Gina inherited probably $300 000 000+ and is now worth $3 000 000 000+
She is a ruthless business woman
Kids are trying to sue her but basically can't. She has shafted them well and truly.

Lang Hancock died in 1992 so it's turning into one of the longest running dec'd estate legal battles in history :P
She tried to screw her stepmum Rose Porteous out of her money too.

During 2011, both Forbes Asia and Business Review Weekly reported that Rinehart was Australia's wealthiest person. During 2012, BRW named Rinehart as the world's richest woman, having surpassed Christy Walton;[6] however Rinehart was surpassed by L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt, Christy Walton, and Alice Walton in 2013, making Rinehart the fourth richest woman in the world.[2]
This begs the question: do they actually think differently or are they born into privilege and have no understanding of the plight if the common person?
I have to say after reding about this bitch I think instead o sterilizing the poor, perhaps we should eat the rich, born into privelage.

At least half of it sounded like oversimplified bullshit to me. Remind me to maybe rant more at a later time. The short version is "I think they're wrong."
-
I propose that I be given my own billion, so scientists can study me to see if I think differently about money. :M

Gina Rinehart reminds me of Jabba the Hutt. I can't explain why, to me she just does.

When I poop I think about life.
I imagine that when a rich person poops they consider ways to get others to wipe their asses for them.

It must be an enormous burden, being wealthy. Not knowing if you have genuine friends or if they are just milking you.
Ever seen 'The Secret Millionaire' ? I love that program.

Or they use paper money to wipe with. Here in Australia they can't do that though - our money is plastic and so it would just smear. :P

i think it is a Channel 4 program. Every episode is about a millionaire who goes 'undercover'. They have a bedsit for a couple of weeks and volunteer to help at local charities. They pretend to be poor. At the end they choose which charity to give a pile of cash to. They often choose all of them. They go and present them with a big cheque and reveal who they really are.
-
A lot of rich people were born that way.

Hope they weren't genuine friends. That seems offensive. People are weird about money.

Saw a program about lottery winners. Some of them get thousands of begging letters.
This one lady had a black bag full of them. She said she felt she had to either read them all or bin them all. So she read them all.
Her fortune was halved.
I would hate to be in that position.
-
She needs to think like the rich. :P
-
do rich people think "mine mine mine" ?
i dunno, i have seen a few anonymous donations, i wonder why they do that?
-
Some of these comments sadden me slightly
Some rich people are jerks. Not because theyre rich though. If they were poor, they'd probably be jerks too.
Out of the people I'm really close to, about half are rich, and half aren't. I don't notice any of them thinking differently, because of there financial circumstances.
-

Let me clarify, then. If someone is a wealthy elite, and considers themselves more than most people.. if they think their opinions and ideals are worth more, because they can sling money at politics and economy... if they think for a moment that their money entitles them to dictate how other people should live and take advantage of that:
Then nothing would please me more than to feel the crunching of their battered skull under my foot. And to smash that entitlement out of their face by repeatedly stamping on it until its nothing but a puddle of gore. I -hate- those fucks.

I agree with most of that. Well, except for the bit about crushing their poor battered skull under your foot, and then stamping on it until it's a puddle of gore :zombiefuck:
I think I'd settle for pelting them with tomatoes, and then removing their power

The only good tyrant is a dead one. A dismembered one, burned to ashes and pissed on. I can't stand knowing people like that actually exist.

I think there is probably some jealousy directed toward rich people. I can see how this could lead to misjudgement.
I don't think rich people think any different. I choose to do my thinking when I am sat on the toilet, perhaps they do too.Just without the cracked seat. ;)

For the most part, people probably prioritize the needs and financial future of themselves and their own families, regardless of how much money they have, as they should.
-
Its not jealousy for me. People who are morbidly wealthy like the rockefellers, the rothchilds are just greedy, and don't care that other people are starving so they can own like, everything. This is a seriously polar perspective to mine. To me, this looks like pure, unadulterated evil. And I feel that the world would be far better off if they were burned to death on international television.

I don't think it is wrong to get rich in an honest way. Why would it? Richness and power that is absolutely wrong is like the nobility and royals have gotten theirs - by murdering, stealing and oppressing.
-
I don't think it is wrong to get rich in an honest way. Why would it? Richness and power that is absolutely wrong is like the nobility and royals have gotten theirs - by murdering, stealing and oppressing.
An honest person wouldn't accumulate a fourth of the world's resources. At some point(WAYYY before that) an honest and good person realizes, hey. I got everything I need, and tons of shit I want. That's enough.
-
He owns $73 billions. That's an enormous fortune but not 1/4 of the resources in the world.
-
He owns $73 billions. That's an enormous fortune but not 1/4 of the resources in the world.
No, it isn't. There are people that have that much money, though. And 73 billion dollars is still absolutely ridiculous. Nobody needs that much money. With exponentially less you could still have all your needs covered, and those of your family for generations, and live an extremely luxurious lifestyle. The only reason to want moooooore and mooooore is the disregard for the welfare of your fellow man. And anyone in the position to have anything they desire on the planet who still desires more, deserves to die a terrible and painful death. Publically.
That criminal way of thinking is my mortal enemy.
