I dunno if this is an April Fool's or not, I've seen it posted on several other news sites. :apondering:
"The government will be able to monitor the calls, emails, texts and website visits of everyone in the UK under new legislation set to be announced soon."
Completely out of order IMO and a waste of taxpayers money. Plus without the internet (no way I'd keep using it if these laws came into place) what the hell will we do with our lives? :GA:
Anyone think this is for real?

I think it's real, with David Davis commenting on it
ALso I'd HOPE that the bbc at least would pick a less controversial subject for an april fools - like an elephant has escaped from London zoo or something
but yeh, I'm pretty sure it's real. the terrorism excuse being used again. kinda scary.

thats awful. we have a similar thing here called the patriot act i think, terrorism is just another excuse to take away yet another personal liberty

Nothing really new. The internet has been monitored for quite sometime, unoffically at least.
