Just seen his dead body dragged around streets on the news
-
I know. I'm watching the news channel now. I saw a little mobile phone video of his dead body. All covered in blood, but I could recognize it as him. Kinda creepy, but I'm glad he's gone.
Hope it all goes well for Libya.

Sic Semper Tyrannis

Heard the speculations about it a couple of hours ago watching the news but they said it wasn't confirmed then. Now it seems he's dead, yeah. Well, I'm not pro-killing in general but I'd say it's good he's gone now.
-
Whoa! They showed his dead body being dragged across the streets on the news? That's cool! They'd never do that on American television... wimps. They'd just say that he was dead and show stock footage of Libya or some gay shit like that.
-
They have proper gone to town on his corpse!

:agreed: Kudos to the Lybians for cleaning house. :thumbup:They have proper gone to town on his corpse!
Just like Mussolini. :viking:

Sure they would
as long as it is not an AMERICAN soldier being killed , it's ok for TV ::)

I've never saw a corpse being broadcast on the news.

i raise you another dictator

He was a moron he had ample time and opportunity to flee with a fortune and live comfortably the rest of his life in exile. Or if being a martyr to his country was his goal go out in a massive explosion. Being caught, killed and dragged through the streets is hardly they way I would choose.
-
I won't pretend I'm sorry to see him gone. My only wish is the same for everyone who dies. That they were able to make amends to their G_d.
-
Well it was going to happen sooner than later.

There are always dead people being shown on the news, you are crazy. I just saw a dead picture of Gadaffi
but it is against the law to show a dead American soldier on TV.
-
I haven't seen the news in years. Because it's always like "oh look at this shit that doesn't matter" like how a 100 year old person is still driving or how a dog took a gigantic shit on the lawn of the state capitol. Wait, I wish they did stories on dogs taking shits in front of government facilities, that would be cool.

It gets better. They captured him alive and wounded, took him by car to the city, and no sooner had they opened the door and got him out all dazed and delirious, but the crowd set on him and grabbed his hair and beat him to death.
Vicious, but kind of a fitting end for such a narcissist, I thought.

I heard a different story on NPR an hour ago. He was captured but later caught in the middle of a firefight and was shot by both sides.

The article I saw was I think on Yahoo. Here's another.

I think the way he was killed was wrong anyway. I would have much
preferred him to stand trial.
He was murdered by a mob. Being beaten, shot and dragged around
the streets is not very civilised. Not particularly worried about how brutal
it was for him (he probably got what he deserved) but thinking more
about children growing up in these times. It has been likened to Mussolini
and i see the similarity. However kids growing up would learn about Mussolini
in the history books, which is where it belongs.

I also think it's kind of sickening how westerners are reacting , I deleted a person on facebook for posting a picture of his dead body... now I fully understand while those in say Libya would do that as they were under his rule and are celebrating etc , but I don't see what this has to do with those in the western world and there is no excuse for reveling in such brutality when you were not directly affected by his dictatorship.
I still think he should have gone on trial because IMO two wrongs don't make a right , but that's just my opinion and I fully understand why people reacted the way they did.
-
Glad he got killed. He deserved it. All tyrants do.
Watch the joy and relief expressed on the faces of those Libyan rebels, and you'll know why I'm happy.

As I said I understand why they're happy with it , I don't personally agree with it , but I didn't live there so can't fairly judge.
I just don't see how doing things like the person I described on facebook is justified , they live in a western country , have full rights , posting the picture with the caption "boom headshot" just seems utterly wrong imo.
-
I guess I'm one of the few who just couldn't give a fuck about Libya. At all.

I'm not all that bothered it's not something I've followed exactly.
I'm glad that Gadaffi is gone , not impressed by the brutality shown but I can hardly blame them.
-
I am guessing the Libyan people who caught Gaddafi couldn't help themselves when it came to killing him. If those people didn't do it, others would have. He wouldn't have lasted until a trial.
It seems as though most people have guns over there. Even kids.
-
I would have got caught up in it too, had i been there. Doesn't make it
right. I have often thought about having a job in a prison just so i could
give the odd kick in the balls to kiddy fiddlers, when no one was looking.
I think it would be too tempting NOT to. That's why i don't have a job in
authority because those that do should know better and act with restraint.
If you are fighting for, and believe in human rights then you have to extend
that to include everyone. Even scum like Gaddafi.
The Authorities did not act correctly in allowing such a barbaric death. JMO.
-
I couldnt personally take part in something brutal like that, and yes people went overboard
... but think about the things he has done. He is responsible for countless murders and terrorist acts. He deserves what happened to him. If I was a citizen of Lybia I would probably dance in the streets.
-

If i lived in Libya right now - i would be having the biggest party ever!
The main thing is HE IS GONE! GOOD RIDDANCE.

Kind of fitting , most people in libya are grateful he's dead.
-
If you were thinking about possibly becoming an evil dictator
and spreading pain and suffering to millions of people
- just take a look at history, look at how they tend to finish
up - Mussolini, Hitler, Bin Laden, Saddam and now
Gaddafi - it's not the best career prospect!
Probably loads more i have not mentioned - but the endings
are not good.

Now it's Bashar's turn.

Now it's Bashar's turn.
 I like that so many police and military have refused orders and/or deserted in the various Arab Spring uprisings. The apple didn't fall far from the horse in Assad's case. :thumbdn:

Even the Arab League is getting sick of what's going on in Syria.

Yeah, the bitch ain't going nowhere. He can talk tough all he wants for now (and hide behind Russia), but eventually some pissed off Syrians will put a stake through his neck and rid their country of this miserable character.

*puts on tinfoil hat*
Is it me or does it seems that all the nations that could potentially ally/side with Iran, are getting destabilized in order to minimize a retaliation against Israel attacking Iran in the future? :tinfoil:
*takes it off*

Always a possibility. There is no innocent government ruling in this world.
But I, for one, encourage what's going on.
