Title: drink driving and speeding
Post by: Adam on March 28, 2011, 05:53:25 PM
People who do this are incredibly selfish

and I don't mean just going over the limit on the motorway or something

I mean people driving stupidly fast through towns

i observe the speed limit.  i dont drink and drive.

i find the ones likely to cause accidents are the ones that trundle along at 25mph
whatever the speed limit - just get a queue of irate drivers building up behind.

I have driven 170 kmph on a road with a 70 kmph speed limit many times without anything happening.  :viking:

I don't drink and drive the one time I tried I could not get out of the dorm parking lot and just parked again   As to speeding I won't speed in residential areas highways and country roads are different .  Generally I drive rather slow though.

You know i'm gonna be honest with you guys. I hate driving. If I can do anything to avoid it, I will.

Like taking a bus instead of driving to the grocery store?

Actually i'll run or ride my bike. I'll only drive if I want to go visit mom and dad or something too far to run.

Drinking and driving? Huge no on my list. But speeding? Totally guilty of it on highways and country roads. I have a lead foot, I like fast cars, and I'm a damn good defensive driver. Residential streets I keep it to the limit or 10 over. Am I reckless? No. I think there's a difference.

people who drive drunk should be castrated

But I speed a bit sometimes. there is this higway that is a straight shot.... perfectly straight.

I got to 114 one time and the car started shaking

I just took my foot slowly off the gas. ... it took forever to slow down .

I love driving. I just zone out.

If I've had anything to drink, I drive extra cautious and slow. I learned that from a former alcoholic who drove drunk for 30 years without ever getting caught.

When I sober, watch out!!! :hotrodder:

Fascinating, why is that? I ask because I am afraid to attempt it myself.   :orly:

I love driving, I just hate the other drivers, not to mention the bicyclists and those cowardly pedestrians.  :viking: And the ridiculous speedlimits, of course. 120 kmph when even my old Volvo does 200.  ::)

I did take driving lessons years ago and became very comfortable operating the car. If I could drive on deserted roads all the time I'd love it!  :2thumbsup:

Driving in crowded places sucks.  In the past I have had to drive box trucks down into NYC it was hell

We obviously drank with the same alcoholic.

I did alot of incredibly stupid shit when I was younger though :zombiefuck:, thankfully I grew up (in some respects anyways :facepalm2:).

Yeah, I no longer cruise down Central Ave. in Phoenix, shitfaced on a fith of Jack Daniels with gas spilling out of the back of my car because I forgot to pot the gas cap back on.  ::)  (I had a '68 GTX with the gas cap behind the license plate) I was so drunk that time that I was seeing double. I just aimed for the line in the middle.  :o  :o  :o
