As you probably know, Google Earth lets you wander around the planet using satellite images. I love the programme and I had a look at London (cos I'm going there next month). Russel Square, to be exact.
I found this.

There's also some pics of the Russian Ekranoplanes or "Caspian Sea Monsters" as they were known. I forget the location though.

It took me a few minutes to realise what I was looking at.

nice find
remember when you could browse these finds directly ON google?
on the map, these little pins would show up, where people had found odd stuff
i guess so many accumulated, they took the feature away. people found all kinds of stuff, a lot of downed planes and stuff in iraq.
myself, i remember zooming over chechnya, just to see if i could find signs of war, and boy did i find them, flames and smoke collumns in the plenties :S

wonder what it would show on Libya? :zoinks:

That's a very phallic explosion :zoinks:

Grozny was _exceptionally_ destroyed, so i doubt the destruction in libya will show as epically as it did on google earth, but if your lucky you can probably spot a downed aircraft or something i guess.
there were scattered smoke collumns over iraq also, during the invasion :]
