Title: Holy shit, my Body Mass Index...
Post by: DukeNukem on February 06, 2011, 02:07:53 PM
...is 41.1! Apparently, anything over 30 is considered obese. I'm 6' 2" and 320 lbs. I never thought I would weigh this much, not a year ago, when I was 215 lbs.

I blame the fucking medication. Adderall for fucking with my appetite and the antidepressants for contributing to my weight gain. I'm quitting the antidepressants completely.

And I was always a big eater. But I would love to be just 215 lbs again... At least I still can walk to the bus stop a few blocks away without getting exhausted.

Quote from: Wikipedia
Amphetamine (USAN) or amfetamine (INN) is a psychostimulant drug of the phenethylamine class that is known to produce increased wakefulness and focus in association with decreased fatigue and appetite.

I notice that you immediately place the blame on medication, even though amphetamine suppresses appetite. Tell me, what are you going to do about your obesity? Are you going to diet and exercise more often, or are you going to sit at a computer and whine about your problem to people on the internet?

A hundred pounds in a year sounds alarming.

I don't even want to know my BMI. I know it's somewhere around the 30 - 40 region. Generally speaking though, I can walk large distances without feeling breathless or too tired.

Mine's 35, and has stayed around that for the whole year.

You're fatter than Chris Chan, Pentawah.

Maybe Jabba would be a more appropriate name for FA.

I wonder if just quitting the antidepressants is the best idea.  Maybe you should discuss the weight gain with your doctor, since 100 pounds is a huge amount of weight to gain in a year.  Maybe you could try a different antidepressant with your doctor's help.  In any case, good luck with losing some weight.  It's good that you can still walk to the bus stop without problems, but if you put on more weight, you might reach a point where you couldn't and that would be very bad for you.

Since I stopped playing sports, Ive found the best way to keep fit is by walking. I try to manage at least a mile or two a day.

Sadly not true though. Im sure masturbation burns a few cals,  but apart from that I have to exercise to keep healthy.

I normally like walking but I haven't moved my arse in over a week.

I take dexamphetamine and have still managed to gain weight while on them. I blame the haloperidol and also my age as I think my metabolism has just slowed down over time.

Thankfully I haven't gained any more weight recently, I think that is because I have been staying away from junk foods and been exercising a bit more. It is very frustrating to gain weight even while being careful not to.

Pentagram I would not be that concerned. It may simply be that you are evolving into a whale. When you start developing a tail, make for the sea. Peace be with you noble sea creature.

It would be very bad for us also because he'd be on the internet 24/7 if he couldn't leave the house.
