A dickhead in British Columbia killed 100 sled dogs on orders from his boss and now wants Workman's Comp for PTSD that resulted from following odious orders. :grrr: Fucking fuck! http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/02/01/canada.man.dogs.slaughter/index.html (http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/02/01/canada.man.dogs.slaughter/index.html) What a lack of backbone and moral center to have not told his boss to fuck off. I have lost jobs over much less than this.

Milgram Experiment - please read http://psychology.about.com/od/historyofpsychology/a/milgram.htm (http://psychology.about.com/od/historyofpsychology/a/milgram.htm)
It is for the same reason why hitler got his henchmen to kill millions of jews, and throughout history armies rape, slaughter and kill civillions - because we are all taught from an early age to respect authority and do as we are told! It is the structure of many 'civilised' cultures!
In particular the older generations, who seem to be more inclined to follow orders and not think for themselves and question authority.. of course he should have said bollox, but we dont really know his profile - he may have been institutionalised most his life, he may have been bullied by his bosses! Those that gave the order should be locked up. As for him claiming PTSD, .... i am not sure, it must have been a horrendous experience.

I recall reading about that experiment in Psychology class. According to the company that bought out Outdoor Adventures the man who killed all the dogs was not acting under orders and was the founder of the company and still General Manager when he did the deed. http://www.adventureswhistler.com/media (http://www.adventureswhistler.com/media) Fuck him in any case

He sounds proper twisted. Crazy. If he gave himself the orders - a bit schitzo. Definately throw away the key then!

He is a "medium" that supposedly talks to the dead. He had a tv show here stateside a while back. On the series Southpark he was taken into space and was voted Biggest Douche In The Universe. :2thumbsup:

:plus: for telling bosses to fuck off when it was appropriate.

It's just fucked up that the prick would even want to continue after the first few dogs.

Just reading that sentence and having the image flash through my head makes my stomach drop. WTF is wrong with him? :'(

I read both this article as well as the first one. I think this guy sort of took it on himself to do exactly what he did, but I think he may have been told by his bosses to cull the pack because he couldn't give the dogs away. At any rate, I think they were paying him worker's comp for his time off.
I saw some dog sled dogs on Sarah Palin's Alaska TV show and I was a bit disturbed to see that each dog was chained to its doghouse and these new managers are at least keeping their dogs in a more open kennel, sterilizing the males, and taking dogs to the vet if they need to be killed.

I think that after the first, he got into a stage of no return, kind of frenzy, no matter how disgusted he may have been with himself. Could probably lead to trauma afterwards, but how did he get himself to kill the first one? I've wondered about that when I read about Nazi killings too, how did they get started. The first is the threshold I guess.
Culling of animals is disgusting IMO. Lots of weird psychology going on in how people can just go on with things like that, be it animals of humans.
-
Maybe that's it. :dunno:

Doesn't make it any less disgusting.

bodaccea is right, you can tell people to do anything.
a docu i watched showed a faked quiz show (based on that famous experiment), where contestants were to zap a man inside a box. they couldnt see him, and they were unaware there was no real electrocution.
both the contestants and the audience believed the man would get zapped w increasing ammounts of electricity for each incorrect answer
the contestants continued to zap the man, "knowing" the woltages were becoming dangerously high, simply cus the host insisted "go ahead"
some tried to politely, laughingly, complain, but still zapped the man, simply by being told again to do so.
a tv host and tv cameras outweighed the mans health. on "applause" the audience would keep applauding
eventually the man screams, begs for the tv-show to end, screams stuff like "let me out! its not funny anymore" etc, and at this point only a tiny minority of contestants refuse to shock him any further.
most of them continue even after he goes silent, "playing dead", demonstrating that people are capable of murder... simply because a tv host goes "ignore it. go ahead."
afterwards, contestants met the actor, and reassured it was all an experiment, many of them broke out in tears

i saw another similar documentary it was called 'white coat syndrome' or something like that, and Mr Joe Average put a white coat on and got students to do all sorts of things, like administering lethal doses of meds etc (the patients were in on it and the meds was just a placebo ) - but none of the students protested, and any that questioned were told sternly 'to do as instructed' and they did. how lethal can a white coat be in the wrong hands eh?

people will usually heed authority.
think of for example, being a german citizen, watching your own police kick people (jews) around for fun. it completely re-shapes your idea of whats normal and whats not, and it doesnt take a lot to completely change a whole population.
a minority always thinks for themselves, as seen in these experiments as well, but the majority is what counts

Still wonder what got that man over the threshold to start killing the dogs. What got him there?
-
I think they should give him special polonium pills for his PTSD

Maybe he grew up in a family that treated pets callously, and believed in shooting old sick dogs instead of taking them to the vet.
Maybe he thought it would be humane, and if the shooting is done "right" I suppose it can be, as little as I care for the idea of it.
He just was too dumb to foresee the terror he'd inflict by deciding to massacre 100 dogs all in one place at the same time...
Anyway, his company made money off those dogs, if they couldn't place them in new homes they should have continued to support them
rather than slaughtering them so cruelly...dumb cheap assholes... :duh: :duh: :duh:

Yes, the dogs knew what was happening as soon as he killed the first one.

Is there Such a thing as a Michael Vic award for douchebaggery??

Maybe there should be.

Michael Vick is an NFL player that went to prison for running a dog fighting ring. Read this link and you will hate him. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/18048882/detail.html (http://www.wsbtv.com/news/18048882/detail.html)

I read somewhere else that two dogs jumped on him and attacked him to try to keep him from killing the others, and he had to slit their throats to stop them.

I hope they laid some pain on the motherfucker before he got them. Working dogs like that should have been in great shape.
