Title: Happy Australia Day Aussies!
Post by: P7PSP on January 24, 2011, 12:43:54 PM
I imagine that in Qld and Victoria it might be a bit subdued but at least the floods have receded. What do you Aussies do on Australia Day? BBQ, fireworks and getting hammered seem likely. I just found a link for it. http://www.australiaday.org.au/experience/ (http://www.australiaday.org.au/experience/) This seems like it would be a good day to be in Oz.

Australia day??

Isn't that where they celebrate by finding a crocodile, sticking their thumb up its butt-hole and really pissing it off??  :zoinks:

I think that has been put on hold until Steve Irwin's children get a little older.  ;D

You don't need Steve's DNA, you just need to channel his spirit. :meditate:  :autism:

Happy Australia Day.
Thank you. :)
I haven't been invited anywhere so will stay home. We will probably have lamb on the barbecue. There will be alcohol but I don't drink (too many meds).

Well, we're very much NOT down under. We're top of the world, don't you know? I probably will be doing not much, apart from watching the cricket and playing PS2 games. Most Aussies like to watch the cricket and have a barbie on Jan. 26th. Some twits go on that it's "invasion day" but I don't buy into that stuff.

There will be but I don't like mint jelly. I will probably just have salt and pepper on mine.

Well Australia Day is nearly over. I did end up having some lamb chops (which got a bit burnt unfortunately) and salad for dinner which was nice.

A lot of people go and watch the Perth Sky Show but I am not going this year.

Have you been affected by the floods at all?

Not in my area of Mid North Coast NSW. I went up to QLD on the weekend to see a concert. The highway was all open, but I could see the aftermath on the sides of the road. Could smell the aftermath too :zombiefuck:

My friend and her friend came to my house, and I watched my dog watching them play grip-ball.
Then they, my family and I went to the beach for a picnic, walked along the beach with my dog, and came home and played cricket.
