So, I have went to community college for the first day of my classes. It has been a while ever since the last time I went. In the lobby of the building where my classes are being held, when I arrived, there was a shitload of people talking. Just when I thought I was finally recovering from my depression, it hits me. I'm so fucking alone! Instead of trying to strike up a conversation with one of these peeps (which would almost guarantee failure), I relegate myself to the netbook computer I had carried with me and watched some YouTube videos and listened to some music until class started. Fucking autism!
I already regret going back to college. I'm probably going to slide myself to a zero GPA and get financial aid suspension again like the fucking degenerate piece of shit I am. The only problem that my SSI check isn't "comfy" enough for me. If I was getting SSD as well, then there would be zero productivity from me. If society wants to reject me, then I'm not going to contribute anything to it, for as long as I fucking live.
That is all.

So? Is this yet another thread where you seek sympathy and understanding and then start in again with hurling invective at people trying to be nice? :thumbdn: :finger: :indeed:
-
Trust me, I'm not trying to manipulate anyone on here to give me sympathy.
If I was, I would be saying that I stuck my penis into my paper shredder! :penis:

That wouldn't make us feel sorry for you, it would make as all very happy that you can't reproduce!!! :hahaha:

I know what it is like. I am coming up to my third year of uni and have only just started talking to people in my classes. They are pretty smart people and I feel dumb just by being around them but I have to try. Can't let autism take over if you know what I mean.
So just give yourself a chance Pentagram. Socialising is hard and it doesn't have to happen straight away.
-
Just take your time, don't rush into things just yet, it doesn't all happen immediately because for me, it has taken me like a whole month to get myself into a socialising stage and before you know, I started hanging out a lot more with my mates and having a laugh which alsohelped me build up my confidence.
Just keep a note of that, because I'm only telling you once and only just once.
------------
Hang on, didn't you make a thread about how much you want to bash sensitive people and now suddenly you became the sensitive one?

Those people probably know each other , generally people aren't so social with people they don't know.
Pay more attention to your studies, that is what you want to do, right ? get educated ?
I started out at community college before I transferred to a university, and it's hard work
good luck :)

You're rushing things. Focus on what you came there to do, the rest will come, but it's going to take time.

:agreed: Having spent 22 years in low-skilled work, I can say, take advantage of every educational opportunity while you are in school.

Why are you guys giving him advice? You're wasting your time. You might as well be advising a brick wall

Can you taste bile rising in your throat?

Just take things easy, and never show your bitterness to anyone in your class. Try and show them your a nice fun guy. Maybe you'll find someone in your class who is shy and awkward like yourself, and you'll be able to find a new friend.

If it helps him make friends then I would suggest he does whatever it takes. He really should not go into college and tell everyone he hates them because they won't be his friend. He should bide his time and hope that somebody else becomes totally isolated within his class, and then try and strike up a friendship with them.
-
I think he should take a good hard look at himself. The whining and the apologies and promises to do better form a pattern that is easy to see. If he can't change that basic behaviour, no amount of lying will help him make friends.

Duke, life is not fair, and it never will be.
You are on the spectrum, and you don't have the most optimistic way to look into the world. You also have moods that can make it hard to connect with people on top of that.
So, life is hard. Making friends will be hard. It's not impossible though.
I think it is time you start to take serious where life is hard for you. Whining for a while is OK. But then it is time to make an inventory of good and bad things. And also a list of what you need help with, and what kind of help.
Stopping to whine doesn't mean you should stop taking your problems serious. It means that you should stop wallowing in feeling sorry, and take the problems really serious. Take them serious and try to find the support you need.
There will be support there to help students. Go there, lay your cards on the table. You are on the spectrum. You have sensory issues. You find it hard to connect with people. You want to have some connections with people. You can have moments of rage and lashing out. You need to get some grip on that. Investigate what you need. And go for it. Don't be ashamed to ask for help.
It will never be easy. But, don't let that keep you from trying.
And do bring your expectations down to something realistic. Making friends the first week would be a miracle. Give it time, and do make an effort.
-
You're not really bitter unless there's bile involved. Maybe it's another emotion instead.

Hyke is very right. She said it better than I would have.
If you want to be friends with these people you CAN NOT lash out at them. If someone lashes out at me in real life I will not be their friend.
-
I do not lash out at people IRL. I can't get angry anymore. I just get even more depressed.
-
I do not lash out at people IRL. I can't get angry anymore. I just get even more depressed.
That is a good start. Although you must not show them that you are depressed. Remember, your classmates are probably not aspie, they just want to make friends with people who are fun. I know that maybe isn't how you feel, but if you want to make friends with NTs you will have to do a bit of acting. People always tell you to be yourself. That is not true for me. I find it easiest to be what they want you to be. #I have been to college a few times, and the best advice I can give is to hide any negative emotions you might feel. Be fun, cool, and happy. You might feel like shit on the inside, but do not let them see that. If you project negative emotions people will avoid you like the plague.
Be sweet, nice, and helpfull. You are probably not stupid compared to some of your classmates, always be ready to help anyone who needs help. Not all of those people will want to be your friend, but maybe one will.

I just went on a rage and broke some shit. I don't know what the fuck anymore.

Take some deep breaths and slow yourself down.

Well, that is not helping you any. Just...I don't know, sit still if you can, try to calm down. :-\
-

Did you do this at college?
No. It was at home.
-

That's not too bad then. I do promise you, that your best chance of making friends is to let them see that you're a sweet guy. Trust me, nobody is going to want to be friends with somebody that is mentally unstable. You have shown me that you can be sweet. If you want to make friends you must be like that 100% of the time you are around them. If you need to go home and smash things up, then so be it. Just never let your classmates see that side of you.
One thinng I might advise you to do is look at the positives in your life. I'm guessing most of your classmates are kids. You might be one of the few who has their own accomodation. If you become close-ish to some of your classmates, inviting them home for a drink might help you bond. I know it has worked for me before. If I was struggling to make friends, I would bring them out for drives in my car, and bring them home to spend the night, and help them get drink. I know this is not the perfect solution, but under the right circumstances it can help you to get to know some of them.

Shut up moaning you fucking emo faggot
-
Spend a few bucks at a yard sale on the most ugly crockery you can find.
When raging, throw a plate, and afterwards carefully pick up the pieces.
The whole process of both destruction and clearing up can be very calming.
The uglier the plates and mugs, the more satisfying to destroy them.

i may sound like a bit of an aspie-elitist saying this, but, its true for NT's, cus "theyre all alike.... "
seriously tho, you dont see THAT much of a variation between various personalities, out there, so its true for them, "be yourself" means "be charming, happy, outgoing, and fond lover of parties and masses of people, such as an ibiza-beach party."

I got my textbooks today from Amazon! Now it's time for me to buckle down and read Chapter 1 in each of these three books. :2thumbsup:

I doubt it will even take a few weeks tbh. it'll definitely happen tho

Maybe not, if he sticks to the books and classes, and remembers that he has to be his own best ally. :viking:
-
But what makeds you think he's gonna do that? The evidence suggests otherwise
-
He won't because he has not learned anything.
-
I am rooting for him just the same. I am trying to learn the same lesson myself, about being my own best ally. :chin:
-
Clearly, the likes of odeon and Heinrich have nothing better to do than to root for my degradation. :wanker:
They think they know me, yet they know jack shit.
I'm glad that there are still people on here rooting for my success, something which has to happen.

Why have a go at them. Just prove them wrong, and don't waste your energy on getting irritated about what you cannot change, but, by proving them wrong.
You have limited energy. Use it well. Use it there where it will be in favour of you.

I would never go on holiday to a country that didn't have proper toilets where you can flush the toilet paper
-
Don't go to Thailand then, those sorts of toilets like that one above are everywhere. A lot of times I just had to hold on because no way will I pee in one of those stand-up toilets.

one american i talked to didnt know what NATO was
another didnt know what norway was, one didnt know what scandinavia was
one said "whats sweden?" when i explained what norway is
all this is real
one thought germany was a "small" country, then i explained germany has 80 million people, and he said "yeah, thats what i said, its tiny" then i asked how many people he thinks america has, and he said "probably billions"
ive had americans ask me if we have cars, if we have tv, if we have sodas and if we have chocolate
one asked me if we have cellphones.
that would have been ironic, considering sweden and finland produces some of the best selling phones in the world, and norway developed a lot of cellphone technology, but its sortof just sad, cus the same people dont know what sweden or finland is ::)

You shouldn't judge all of America by the actions of a few morons. Should I judge Norway because it's the homeland of General Razorbeard? Every village has its idiots.

the thing is, america has a LOT of morons.
ive never ran into anybody of any other culture, who did not know _what_ norway was.
the most ignorant people after those americans, that ive talked to, were spanish hoodlums who thought norway had perpetual winters. they knew where norway was, they knew what sweden was, and they knew where to find both countries on a map
like that canadian show where they have fun showing maps to americans, asking them to find countries.
"but that shows fake cus they only use the dumbest people!"
yeah, and still they muster up several episodes ::)
you'd be lucky to find even ONE such a retard over here, seriously...

No one is a moron/imbecile/idiot, It's something you do, not something you are, I have a high IQ and I've done well on my exams in the tenth grade.
No one is a moron/imbecile/idiot, It's something you do, not something you are, I have a high IQ and I've done well on my exams in the tenth grade.
In English?
English was probably my strongest subject next to gymnastics, unlike the motherfucking aspie fatasses on this board, I can't imagine how anyone could look up to and support people like that.
I disagree with Shleed in the erasing-autistic-kids thread, I may be a burden to my school and previous workplace, but I've offered the world a lot too, I've guaranteed my friends a good time, I've managed to make myself very good-looking through Photoshop, I've shared them as well as nature pics with my friends, family and teachers, I've sent money to a Christian organization helping children in need in the poorest shitholes in the world.
I also think that Hitler would have killed all "letter children" if he hadn't known about his diagnosis which is AS, then he might just have spared the ones with AS/HFA.
I have a good friend with MFA, he may speak like he's a complete tard, he may walk like one too, but he's actually one of the nicest guys ever, most of my aspie friends are annoying, rude, sarcastic, obese, just hideous altogether, both physically and mentally, the nice aspie rumor is a myth, the myth about autists being exceptionally beautiful is also false, most of them don't care about or give a shit about their appearance at all, I pity them.
No matter how much of a high-functioning aspie/HFA you are, you will get tired from all the social contact eventually, you may collapse like Heather Kuzmich did on ANTM if it gets too crowded, or you could just work for yourself with maybe 1-2 people around you to assist you if you need to be assisted.
Regardless...one of my aspie friends said that he would probably "get a bad turn" soon because of all the crowded atmosphere at work, he would start to behave like a whiny prick if it continued, so no, aspies can't function in a situation like that for too long, Bill Gates has got to be one of the most high-functioning aspies in the world, and he did something as socially unacceptable as rocking back and forth LIVE, aka, he got overwhelmed by all the dense atmosphere.
Bottom line, autistics can never survive solely on their own, and especially not during the stone age, they would have to be accompanied by someone else to survive.
Viewing humans as animals isn't nice, It's a degenerated view.

Viewing humans as animals isn't nice, It's a degenerated view.
like i said, you'd be lucky to find one :]
and even then, GR knows where countries are situated, and what theyre called
-
That's true. GR isn't retarded in the same way that someone who doesn't know what norway is. He's just got fucked up views. The really dumb people like that here are the underclass of chavvy scumbags. Whereas plenty of "normal" americans are dumb as fuck and completele unaware of anything goign on outside of their own country
-
also, lets be fair, i often say this:
america isnt THE WORST
for example, countries w murderrates worse than america: russia, south africa, guatemala, thailand
countries with worse education than america: uganda, somalia, congo, eritrea
countries with more religious nuts than america: saudi arabia, iran, india (altho these religious nuts are mostly just harmless fun)
-
We always manage to find other countries when it becomes time to bomb them to bits.
Besides, do you have any sources for your statements? Education levels and standardized test scores are very well reported and are often studied.
-
You shouldn't judge all of America by the actions of a few morons.
-
we're not judging all of america. just the united states :autism:

AHh, but do you know what the helll they mean when they sayy , "Duke?" WTF!
Is it Duke Nuke-him?
... and what the fuck is he still doing here. I thought he was equivalent to a persona non grata or somethingg.
Is there one "rule" that no one folllows?
-
Clearly, the likes of odeon and Heinrich have nothing better to do than to root for my degradation. :wanker:
They think they know me, yet they know jack shit.
I'm glad that there are still people on here rooting for my success, something which has to happen.
Then show us that we are wrong. Show us that you can listen *and* change.
I'm not holding my breath but I love to be surprised.

I just so happen to be one of these "retard brits" , you have an argument with one british person then you label us all as "retard brits" , is that not what you're annoyed with Soph for? , his comments about "Fat and lazy americans" ?.
I'm just going to say I don't share these views and neither do all of us "retard brits", please keep your arguments to yourselves and stop dragging others into it , thanks. ::)

Seems persona grata to some.

Awwww. Come on, have a heart. Duke has many faults, but he is kinda sweet in his own way. I really don't think he's a bad guy. I know he is an angry guy, but I don't think he's bad.

Talking to me? Said persona grata.

I've just looked it up. Yes he is. I think Duke has a place on this forum :2thumbsup: :2thumbsup: :2thumbsup:
I'd :plus: you, but...

The word reminds Pentagram of his own lack of cock.

He bit is wee mickey off and ended up bending one of his teeth out of place. :autism:

The reason my upper front teeth are bent is that I sucked on a pacifier until I was 11 years old. That's not a typo. I said eleven years old.
That's how much my parents fucking cared. ::)

kudos for the guts to hand this nugget out to the entire forum,
now, just drop the touch of emo, and your nearly there.
as long as you give the impression that you regard your problems past/present as absolutely monumental, it will come across as emo.

Maybe they cared very much about you, but thought it gave you too much comfort to take it away from you. My daughter stopped sucking her thumb when she was four, but her front teeth stick out anyway, so your teeth might still stick out even if they had taken away your pacifier much earlier than they did. I would happily get braces for her because I think fixing her teeth would help her speech articulation, but she doesn't want to get braces because she likes her teeth exactly the way they are and I think getting braces would require a certain amount of cooperation from her.

I think you're right about that. When I was getting braces many years ago, at age 11, the orthodontist emphasized to me that I needed to follow his advice
or the treatment wouldn't work. He warned me to stay away from gum and candy for the entire two years of treatment, to brush with extra care,
to wear my headgear as instructed, and so on. Without my participation, the treatment would have been a waste of time. :chin:

one american i talked to didnt know what NATO was
another didnt know what norway was, one didnt know what scandinavia was
one said "whats sweden?" when i explained what norway is
all this is real
one thought germany was a "small" country, then i explained germany has 80 million people, and he said "yeah, thats what i said, its tiny" then i asked how many people he thinks america has, and he said "probably billions"
ive had americans ask me if we have cars, if we have tv, if we have sodas and if we have chocolate
one asked me if we have cellphones.
that would have been ironic, considering sweden and finland produces some of the best selling phones in the world, and norway developed a lot of cellphone technology, but its sortof just sad, cus the same people dont know what sweden or finland is ::)

In college ( yes, this kid made it to college) there was this one guy that wanted to know what the difference between Poland and Germany was. :-\
so, we explained it to him
It just confused him more
So, we started to explain the difference between eastern and western europe.
You know wht he said ?
"what does Germany and Poland have to do with Europe ? I thought you said these are all different countries"
we just gave up after that
YES THIS WAS COLLEGE
*facepalms*

Also, there is no time limit to getting braces for your daughter, Callaway. My parents could not afford braces for me so I had to wait until I was working and could pay for them myself. That was when I was 25.
Plus as cbc said, you have to be really vigilant in looking after your teeth when there are braces on them and a lot of kids aren't, they kind of don't understand the responsibility and the consequences of not looking after their teeth. So waiting until they are older can be a good thing.
I had major jaw surgery when I had my braces and the whole lot cost a large amount of money but in the end I am glad I did it. Having a nice smile gave me a lot more confidence. :)

I have crooked teeth but not as bad as Pentagram's. I'm also not as ugly as him in general

I thought that it was easier for her teeth to be fixed while she's still young, but thanks for the information, both of you.
I never had braces myself, so I didn't know. She has more issues besides just her front teeth protruding. She also has a cuspid tooth growing outside her lateral incisor as opposed to growing in line with it properly.

What's wrong with the right side of your mouth in this picture?

My teeth didn't look too bad when I was young; the issue was that my poor alignment would cause damage to the teeth themselves over time.
If your daughter's dentist thinks her teeth are crooked enough to need correction for other than cosmetic reasons, maybe you and your husband
could persuade her to have braces...and then again, maybe you couldn't. :chin:

I had braces for 4 years
Now my teeth are perfect, like the rest of me.

I love her self-confidence but I think when she's older, she will wish she had taken care of it now.

Well, as renaeden points out, some people have orthodonture in their adult years.
Maybe at some point in her adult life your daughter will be motivated to do that, if she needs to.
-
People can fix these things in adulthood if they're concerned about looking ugly
-
I don't know that I would have been mature enough (in my mind) to have braces when I was a kid. Plus I had to have the surgery along with braces and I don't know how I would have coped when younger. I had my jaw mostly wired shut for three weeks and couldn't chew anything, had to have everything through a straw. Bit of a sensory nightmare. I chose it to happen, though.

Hey I never said I was handsome, I said I wasn't as ugly as you (which, let's face it, doesn't take a lot)
So........
logically, we can conclude that all this talk of me being handsome originated in YOUR mind :zoinks:
Do you want me to be your hot british boyfriend, Pentygwam? :2thumbsup:

btw the answer (as with callaway) is no, sorry - you're not my type
