This is a thread for posting real world aspie meeting places. In the Northern California area around Sacramento people have the option of attending one of two meetings at the M.I.N.D. Institute the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm.

Shouldn't some sort of organizational system be in order? If this thread takes off, there could be pages and pages of posts with no discernible pattern.
I suggest, at the minimum, writing out the full name of the city, state and country of any meeting place, so the search function can be used by interested members. A simple, two-letter abbreviation (such as those commonly used for US states) would be difficult to filter using the search function. Multiple-letter abbreviations that are widely used and uncommon in English (such as "USA") might be workable. Another system is to have an administrator periodically rearrange the posts/organization names into an agreed-upon system.

If we get enough posts with information, I am willing to sort it out into a list of some kind.
I know it is pretty pointless putting down where I go to meet other autistics as no one I know on here is likely to live where I do.

No, but a lot of people on here circulate to other autism sites. Besides, if this list eventually appears in a forum viewable to the public, it could end up being indexed by search engines and used by other aspies looking for information. Furthermore, this list could eventually be consolidated with other lists into one great reference list. I know AFF has a list, and ASAN might be willing to host a consolidated list of resources for all aspies.

There may be other spazzes in your area that end up here. You should post it.

A likely story to cover for the obvious administrator conspiracy. ;)

I realised later that I could have stickied the thread within my own post. It is not done that way on another forum I am on though, on there it has to be the original post that's altered. And this doesn't really make sense! Oh well.
