I don't know why, but there is a definite Victorian atmosphere to it. Perhaps the colors, the content, busyness, organization, fonts, etc.

from my small selection, i can see that similarity,
but the vast majority of laffoleys work is a lot more "schematic"
more like.. this:

They remind me of a guy. There's some people who think the true unified field theory includes consciousness. Philosophers bright enough to grasp complex physics can come up with some far out ideas. Read a book on it a couple years ago; not my thing. The guy was great though; think of him sometimes.

i cant fully wrap my mind around the nature/definition of conciousness, and its something i usually stay a safe distance away from.
like when a plant reacts, can it be categorized conciousness, as opposed to mineral reaction to its environment :I
is conciousness restricted to logical and emotional thought, is a brain required for conciousness, etc

that is freaaaky
but of course, by occams razor principle, that is simply "a reflex"
but STILL the issue of "conciousness" remains vague, like, we could lump reflexes into "conciousness" as well, someone completely unconcious do not react to anything, their pupils dont contract - their _reflexes_ dont work :D

No wai. That plant's clearly an aspie.
