Title: Products from china
Post by: richard on November 30, 2010, 01:25:42 PM
Lets see, i recently bought a mop and It was kindof expencive. Its one of those nice shammy ones that are supose to be the best that i've seen on TV, and guess what? Its held together by fucking twist ties at the end!

So everytime i wring it out the tie comes loose and doesnt get rid of the water properly. Moral of the story?

I'm never buying ANYTHING from fucking china, and you shouldnt either.  :(

PS. there's probably dangerous levels of lead in the plastic handle aswell

The only thing that should be bought from china is Tungsten.  ::)

You bought something that was shit to begin with. Infomercial products are always shit.

One of my lenses is made in China, it's fairly well built.

If the stuff is made up to specs and has a company importing it that cares about quality control the stuff is fine.  A lot is just cheep crap though. I will buy tools for work from their if I know it will be destroyed in the process of using it otherwise I stick with brands I trust

Most companies dont care though, and i dont think thier systems in place are looking out for safety.
Money talks and your health can take a back seat! I really am intrested in buying American or European because

I enjoy living healthy

And almost anything with a rare earthy element in it most of them are at the very least refined there even ones mined here are sent there for the final refining.  So anything with a lcd screen or neodymium magnet in it is at least partially from there.  This is a good reason for the US to work on refining facilities as we already have a supply of ore

But China has most of the worlds Tungsten deposits. like 1/3 or something.

It's basically impossible not to buy shit from China. Too bad.
A friend of mine actually has  things machined in China for his business. He did it right though, went to China to make the deal and check out their factory with an expensive caliper. So I guess it's possible to get something decent from China, but you have to really keep an eye on them. I remember they called him up once, "We've fallen behind on schedule, so we're working 18 hour days! Don't worry, we'll have it to you on time!!" He was like, "God, no... No, it's okay just have it here late, don't work 18 hour days.... please?". I don't see why their work ethic can't translate to quality more often.
