I can walk to the beach in about 15 minutes or less. You can walk out that island at low tide where their are ruins and tons of rats

For some reason I had pictured you living in a woodsy type area. Funny when you get an image in your head and then it's nothing like what you thought.

My parents did that. They ended up renting a log house and then eventually buying it. It's been my Dad's pride and joy to fix it up himself. They're on 2.5 acres for forested land (in GA) and an acre of it is cleared. The house has been a fun project for him.

I think most of the ruins are from a religious retreat but there have been many things there since the 1600's when the town was founded. Its Charles Island http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Island but a better name would be Rat and Poison Ivy Island :zombiefuck:

I've been intrigued by mountains and the western U.S. since I was a child listening to John Denver singing "Rocky Mountain High."
If I had the view that you have, I'd probably walk into traffic while gawking at the gorgeousness on the horizon!

I( love the mountains been near the shore all my life and would gladly trade it for some mountains

I( love the mountains been near the shore all my life and would gladly trade it for some mountains
My Dad was transferred to CO for a year and they had a house that was literally carved into the side of the Rocky Mountains. I loved visiting them there. There was a huge herd of elk that lived there and they would gather in the middle of the narrow road leading up to the house but they knew the truck and would part to let us through. We could have the windows down and they would be close enough where you could feel them breathing if you drove by slowly enough. It was amazing.

As a matter of fact I do.
But this particular image was taken when the sailing ship (a replica of an 18th century East Indian trader) prominently displayed in the foreground of this picture was leaving on her maiden voyage. It's not always that crowded.

at first it was old romanesque (i dont know if that's a word :D ) church, built in 11th century, later in the beginning of 14th century they rebuilt it completely in gothic style. since then it was destroyed, burned down, reconstructed and burned down again, and they're still working on its reconstruction now :D

I'm not a very disciplined reader, but if I could time-travel, I'd go to the Middle Ages in a heartbeat, especially medieval Britain!
Of course, I'd want to be inoculated against the Black Death first, if such an inoculation exists. :chin:
