I just wanna be a member and i'v been trying. I get this message
"To finish the registration process you should visit the following link in the next 24 hours to activate your user account, otherwise the information will be automaticaly deleted by the system and you should apply again"
WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT SHIT? "you should visit th following link in the next 24 hours" NEXT 24 HOURS? HOW AM SUPOSED TO KNOW WHEN THE TIME IS UP AND I CAN LOG IN? why don't you send me the link in then next 24 HOURS you lazy piece of fucking shit.

You're taking it too literal. It's not exactly 24 hours but it can take up to that hour before you get the email.
When I registered, it didn't even take me that long to get an email. It took about a few minutes.

When I registered, it didn't even take me that long to get an email. It took about a few minutes.
Yeah, I would interpret "Visit the link in the next 24 hours" as "Visit anytime within the next 24 hours."

It's a bit of a myth that there's a gazillion people at WP. Many of the accounts are sock puppets of banned members, plus Alex has a few socks of his own.
If I'm not mistaken, part of the reason I got banned there is because I discovered one of his socks and sent it a nasty PM. :evillaugh:

Before the new server, there were lots of complaints about slow loading and the video, and someone mentioned it might help if the site logged people off when they left as who knows how many are perma logged on and never return. Don't think it got a response though.

Member A logs in. Member A looks at a few pages, then closes the window and walks away.
From Member A's perspective, he's still logged in, but the server only "challenges" - checks login credentials - when they request a page.
So, Member A comes onto the site, opens a thread and reads it. Now, say he's reading it for 15 minutes without changing page - from the sites point of view, he's not online, because he's not made a page request in fifteen minutes, so he'll drop off the "Who's Online" list.
Whether or not you are logged into a forum isn't stored there - the login credentials are stored locally, on your machines (which is what Cookies do).
It doesn't have to be fifteen minutes, I'm just going by AFF's setting.

Yeah all it means is you have a day to click the link.
Usually the link arrives straight away, also you should check your spam because i've had WP links going there for some reason.
The reason for the time limit is to increase security of the forum, similar to the alphanumeric text you have to type in to avoid bots etc or fake registrations. Not so common on smaller forums, (Although on mine it had to be done prtty quickly to fix a spammer problem) but a huge problem on larger ones.
They just say 24 hours to imply if the link isn't sent straight away, giving you enough time to get it before it expires. :)
