i hate axl.
his punk ass bitch attitude cost me several years of music pleasure.

I doubt that unless you mean with another singer- I saw 'Guns N Roses' performing live on TV a couple of months back- I think he was the only remaining member and he couldn't even sing by himself anymore. It was pitiful, there was another guy on stage with him singing more than half of the lines for him. ::)
I consider it one of my guilty pleasures that I still occasionally like to listen to them :-[

Mozart's Requiem preformed with period instruments, I'm a sucker for classical music preformed the way it would have when it was first preformed 8)

they effectively broke up 15 years ago. but even the time between appetitie and use your illusion was 5 years.
as a new sensation at the time, they should have whipped out 3-4 albums in that time frame.

Peter Esco's chicken fight: prank call.
I should count how many times fuck is said in there because that would be intresting. I seem to listen to what ever I am in the mood for. I must be in ganster mode right not. I am drinking my tea now so maybe that is why, and I am going to do some intense training. Tiredness does not help that either, and that makes me hyper like the tea can. Exercise calms me down and later, after my laundry is done and I talk to Jessica, I am napping.

Got the real thing finally. It's very different from the sound on the promo I have (mastering is complete).
This is great, guys. It's the Band Of Gypsies, recorded at "The Record Plant" and remixed by Eddie Kramer at "Electric Lady Studios".
It's truly the Power of Soul! Just order it, damnit!
MODDED to add:
No, I'm not getting any commission, but if you're a Hendrix fan you will see several buzz words used above, which describe the best of Hendrix quality. This sounds very "First Days" era from 1970.

Are you getting commission on sales?
I wish, but, not really. I have always been obsessed with Jimi Hendrix. His family has been so fucked over by the music industry, that I want to see them get rich, finally, instead of struggling. There is no reason for them to have to fight so hard for what is rightly their's.
I was sneaking a listen to a contraband radio in high school, when I heard he had died. I was devastated on so many levels. I couldn't finish the day and just left school. I am still moved, deeply, when his music touches me.
No one has even begun to take the guitar as far as Jimi did, naturally, in a few short years.

Quite often, Schon shows unbridled genius, but he floats it in a sea of pablum. Not really recomending him, unless you're a student of the guitar.

Yay for Pendulum! They're actually a Western Australian band, and they're pretty good. Tarantula is one of their best songs, imho.

I just found this "Hit Record" in a box of promo CDs that a friend sends me, occasionally. He probably had more than one, of this CD. He sends me his cast-offs and most of the time they suck. I saw this gal about two years ago at a county fair and I was impressed. Obviously, her looks captured my attention, but I was already drawn to the sound of a good band playing, when I got a look at her. I discovered, later, she was fifteen years old at the time. She has a recording contract, now and a hit song. Who would have thought? I think I just found my next avatar subject.

Have you heard the Husker Du version of Eight Miles High? Fucking belter.
-
Oh, yeah, I've got that. I kind of collect re-dos, if the are good.
-
I have two opinions on cover versions - an original, enthusiastic or impassioned take on the original is a tribute, a thing of joy and is often better than the original. A commercial, bland, boring or pedestrian version of a song is often enough to make me apoplectic. Good covers: the previously mentioned Eight Miles High, 'Isolation' covered by Therapy?, 'Viva Las Vegas' covered by the Dead Kennedys, 'The Man Who Sold The World' covered by Nirvana. Really fucking bad covers: 'Under The Bridge' covered by All Saints, anything ever handed to a boy band to murder, every poxy assassination of the Smiths' classic 'How Soon Is Now' I've ever heard... I sense another topic coming on. *ahem* :soapbox:

Thirteen times you fucked with my karma.
And thirteen times I fucked on your dogma.
You've taught me to hate.
You've taught me to crawl.
You raised your hand as you raised the bottle.
You knock me down, but it made me stronger.
The harder you hit,
The harder you fall.
And this one's for my mother,
What will I do without her?
Don't look back.
Don't even bother.
And this one's for the father
Who loves his little daughter.
Well, here I am.
Don't even bother.
You can freak out about me,
But you'd lose your mind without me.
You thought you could see right through me,
But it made no difference to me, anyway.
Anyway.
A free reign gave you ammunition
To play the game and fuck other women.
And something just snapped
And cracked in my brain.
Thirteen times I sucked up inside me
The different ways that you tried to harm me.
You did it once.
You'll do it again.
And this one's for my sister,
You dare to denigrate her.
Don't look back.
Don't even bother.
And this one's for my lover,
The one who had to suffer.
Here I am.
Don't even bother.
You can freak out about me,
But you'd lose your mind without me.
You thought you could see right through me,
But it made no difference to me, anyway.
Anyway.
Anyway.
Anyway.

The title of this thread was only changed as a joke (first to funky badger and then to spunky monkey) since she hadn't posted in months it obviously wasn't done to provoke her- guess I forgot she had a sense of humour by-pass a long time ago (to make room for her increased sense of indignation op).

I've been editing home videos and putting them on disc. My wife nutz out because I have the music going too and thinks I should just choose ONE. I have, though. I am getting the editing done and transferred and I have no idea which of the three thousand songs, which are on a random/no repeat playlist from the new stuff I downloaded last week, is going, IN THE BACKGROUND.......

Not surprising, considering it was started by an ice cold bitch. :shitfan:

It's a song off of Genesis' Invisibel Touch. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invisible_Touch) It's basically someone screwing around with a synthesizer.

Some squirrel trying to climb up a plate glass window. ::) Also the whine of a tree branch grinder and construction equipment somewhere across the valley from me and it's tres annoying. >:( I'd go see wtf is going on, but, if it's tolerably loud here, it's probably ear splitting near it.
Yes I am a whining, self-pitying tosser! :P

Well, I made some noise of my own today, dismantling Amber's old wooden swing set, denailing the boards and reusing them in various ways. Very therapeutic, creative destruction.............. :evillaugh: Can't wait to go to my inlaws and begin the demolition of an old shed thats past it's prime!

i hate axl.
his punk ass bitch attitude cost me several years of music pleasure.
if he wasn't such a twat, they would still be turning them out in original form.
I doubt that unless you mean with another singer- I saw 'Guns N Roses' performing live on TV a couple of months back- I think he was the only remaining member and he couldn't even sing by himself anymore. It was pitiful, there was another guy on stage with him singing more than half of the lines for him. ::)
I consider it one of my guilty pleasures that I still occasionally like to listen to them :-[
they effectively broke up 15 years ago. but even the time between appetitie and use your illusion was 5 years.
as a new sensation at the time, they should have whipped out 3-4 albums in that time frame.
i blame dissention (because of axl) for them not havinig produced more music.
that punk arsed be-otch.
Axl Rose was also responsible for keeping the band together and forcing them to quit doing so many drugs. Not long after Appetite for Destruction came out, most of the band got pretty heavy into heroin.
